  1. I inherited an AutoCAD file that includes hundreds of text objects that are each duplicated in place. In other words - each text object that you see in the file has a duplicate behind it in the same location. Is there a script that weeds out duplicate objects (given they have the same parameters: location, size, type, etc.)? The source of the file is not willing to fix it and resend to me - it would be a big help if someone has an idea. Thanks.
  2. We use AutoDesk TrueView, running Windows XP in Parallels Desktop. It has proved to be a reliable tool for viewing incoming AutoCAD files and checking outgoing AutoCAD exports. It is Windows only, but is available for Mac users with the expenditure of several hundred dollars and a little bit of time. It was worth it to us. iMac 20" Intel Core Duo VW 12.5
  3. I appreciate the reply. I don't think that will work for me - but I did discover another way around the problem, at least for now. I mapped the stock VW (12.5) color palette according to the color numbers as they translate to AutoCAD. If anyone else wants to use this file for reference, click below on "Color Palette Download." This is an imperfect solution, but does give a clue on how to set class colors to match AutoCAD layer color requirements. Note that the VW palette does not use the same 256 colors as A-CAD and thus there are duplicate colors when using VW. Color Palette Download
  4. Is there a reasonable method to assigning class colors using the AutoCAD color numbers? I know that VW recognizes those numbers for the purposes of importing .dwg files. I need to assign those color numbers to classes for exporting to .dwg. This is for a digital submission that is required to meet the National CAD Standards.
