  1. Benson- Thank you for the vimeo tutorial for adjusting the bridging issue. Fantastic use of VW tools to fix the bridging. Once you get accustomed to the keyboard shortcuts for the 3dLoci, objects along path and 3d polygon, it should go quick
  2. I would like the service select component of vectorworks to render sheet layers while I work on a local copy of the file. Is this possible ?? a workflow ?? should I frequently send a copy of the file to the service select ??
  3. It would be great to have plant images from the plant database in a cell on a plant list worksheet. Alternatively, the ability to create a worksheet with plant images from the plant database using plants on a design layer.
  4. I just placed a plant list on a sheet layer, selected the worksheet and selected classes and the worksheet reflected the classes. Now we need the ability to place images from the plant database into a worksheet so clients can review the plant palette-
  5. thank you for clarifying Are you giving all the seminars ? We will be signing up for the February classes
  6. Can anyone share their review of the landmark seminar by Eric Gilbey We are considering the February seminar and would like feedback of the just completed program Thank you
  7. The Disto 800 by Leica, a handheld measuring device, is a possibilty It records 3D info and has storage of recorded info and pictures of points selected Downsides: red laser may be difficult to see in bright sunlight and objects needing selection may be obscured by elements (plants etc) in between
  8. Alan W- thank you for the link to Changing Minds, this is an incredible resource The forums here are priceless Bob C
  9. J. Wallace, thank you for the quick easy guide We have many of the same issues with 3D loci showing up in renderings Bob C
  10. The help guide says to add a hydrozone record format to a landscape area you select data in object info palette and then it appears in the resource manager. I do not have the record format for hydrozones available. Am I looking in the wrong place ?? thank you
  11. The access to the plant info and the real time plan adjustments and plant info updating is wonderful- let me know how to set up the program accordingly Thank you
  12. Canon plotter IPF710 We removed the existing printer in the printer system preference and then reloaded it and the plotter works. To add the the canon printer use the setup app found in the canon utilities folder in the applications folder.
  13. Peter- I will be aware of the issues in Publish, thank you Benson- If I get the workflow, I will share it
  14. Sorry, the Publish commend in VW will combine multiple sheets into one PDF
  15. Peter, have you tried your hand at Automator ? I assume a 'workflow' or 'action' can be written to convert PDFs to greyscale in Preview and then save as a new file name. The Publish command will combine multiple sheets into one PDF. I use "Hazel", an application that does great things with folder actions but have not configured it work on this 'workflow' and Preview. I can get any file dropped in a predetermined folder to duplicate and open in Preview, but my abilities stop there.
  16. Thank you both- Peter: I am using the Publish feature for the first times because there are many sheets and the typical workaround will take time. I use color for client review/schematics and am hoping to quickly convert the schematics to something for pricing then construction. Benson: Thank you for the recommendations. We usually save as a jpeg instead of PNG. We will try PNG. Have you written an Automator 'Action' to batch convert in Preview ? I am interested in having a workflow that activates and converts the color to greyscale, saves as a PDF, and renames the file. I know this sounds ambitious-
  17. Peter- for reference, I have included the original color sheet
  18. here is the results with 'almost' greyscale from Preview: Thank you, Peter, for the interest
  19. @ Cipesdesign: for whatever reason, Preview does not fully process large greyscale requests. I have a large landscape sheet using multiple landscape areas in gradients with opacity and even with multiple requests, Preview does not 'grey' all of the sheet. Of course the Publish tool looks so promising and it is already in Vectorworks and I get to keep the drawing collection as a 'saved' workflow in Vectorworks- so close and yet so far...... Pixelmator works great for greyscale conversion but a single sheet at a time. I have a 15 sheet set and do not look forward to processing each sheet. I considered trying my hand at an Automator workflow or folder action but I am not capable of achieving it. Thank you both for your efforts, I appreciate your help Happy New Year
  20. The Publish command is great, except the black and white option is not enough to handle patterns and nuances of grey-tones when converting color drawings. A greyscale option in Publish to PDF that maintains opacity settings would be greatly appreciated. I do most work in color and would like the option to Publish in greyscale. Contractors receive drawings via email or the cloud and send drawings out for printing (pricing and construction) and need the greyscale for clarity.
  21. I should clarify the post- the adjustments mentioned above are in class attributes- Sorry for the too quick posting above
  22. Landscape area lines (type, cold, style) can be adjusted in a viewport. Fills can only adjust when solid (gradients, patterns, tiles) cannot be adjusted in a viewport. Would like to adjust landscape area fills (all types) in viewports Thank you
  23. I am checking back in regarding the unit conversion issue. My files still adjust back to .001 precision when set to 1 thank you
