Files sent. Thank you.

Indeed, the software I am using is called Biesseworks, and comes prepackaged with the machine. It was outdated in 2011 when I purchased it, and runs on Windows XP. Yes, you read that correctly. There is zero incentive for Biesse to investigate why one version of a CAD programs' DXF export isn't working, especially when it works with ALL other versions of Vectorworks. There is something in 2025 that changed, it's not a Biesseworks issue. That said, I will send a sample file to them today to see what they say. We are going back to 2024 for now, and if the problem persists through 2025 and into 2026 then we will look at another program to handle the CNC export. Appreciate all the responses so far.

Ok so I imported a file into the Autodesk viewer. It looks fine.
-
Not sure. I'll try tonight or tomorrow. But I do know that if I import the DXF back into Vectorworks, it's fine.
-
Glad I'm not the only one. But frustrating. I feel like I've tried everything to no avail. There is something VW did with the DXF export that is problematic. I will try to submit a bug report and see what happens.
-
I've definitely been very careful in my settings selections, and I've tried all the variation in AutoCAD versions. I even tried installing VW2024, and it works fine there. There is just something about 2025 that my CNC software doesn't like. I think I'm going to try to reinstall 2025 to see if that changes anything. But it's a real pain because I decided on this version that I wouldn't migrate everything over from 2023. I was trying to make it a clean start as I have some duplicate entries of things in 2023 that happened when the migration manager failed a few times for that upgrade. There's always something....

Not sure if this is the right place to add a wish item for InteriorCAD, but here goes: Please get rid of the update button on the InteriorCAD palette. It's redundant. When you make changes to a cabinet in the cabinet editor, and then press "OK" to accept those changes, the cabinet should update. That's it. That's my wish. As it is now, after you press "OK", your changes may, or may not, take effect. It's a 50/50 crap-shoot. And if it doesn't update you have to press "update" one or multiple times to get the cabinet to change. It's been this way from at least 2016 as I recall.

I just posted this in the Discord group, but thought I would post here to bring more attention to this. From Discord: Update button. Has anyone wondered why there is an update button on the interiorcad palette? Years ago, there was a problem with "zombie cabinets". Then the update button appeared so you didn't have to go into the cabinet editor to force it to update. Now in version 2025 that I've just installed, I was REALLY hoping that stupid update button was gone. But alas, it's still there, and I have to use it CONSTANTLY to update my changes (mostly for door gaps that I adjust all the time whether there is a flush scribe/filler, or set back). Just a bit of a rant, but seriously, let's get on with fixing it. If you press OK after a change, make the change. Don't force me to repeatedly update the cabinet. Just had to update a cabinet 4 times before the change took effect.

Does anyone know what might have changed with respect to DXF exports between version 2023 to 2025? I recently upgraded to 2025, but now when I export to DXF my CNC machine will not import the geometry. There is something about the export file that it doesn't like, but I can't figure it out. I have tried a million different variations and settings, but no go. If I import the DXF file back into Vectorworks, the geometry is there, so it exports just fine, there is some setting, somewhere that is blocking the CNC program from reading the file. Thanks in advance for any help.

Whew. This was driving me crazy. Thanks for the help @Pat Stanford

I accidentally checked the box to save sets every time I use the publish command. How do I undo that? I never want to save sets. Thanks!

This is not an interiorCAD question per se, but I thought someone in this realm might be able to help. I'm having an issue with exporting a DXF file from VW2025 for import into Biessworks, using Biesseworks layer names (like TCHW0B1TC1PT1TCD$1_4$IT1IA45OT1OA45). When I import the file, there is no geometry on the panel. This worked fine in VW2023, but now that I've upgraded to 2025, something is amiss. If I import the DXF into a new file the geometry exists. I have replicated all the export settings from VW2023, but for some reason Biesseworks can't import the geometry. Anyone else having issues? Thanks

Does anyone have any information on the release of IC for 2025? I've emailed extra group, but got no response. To be fair, I rarely get a response anyway. Maybe I'll try submitting a ticket for more info.

Yeah this is brutal. I accidentally included a couple sheet layers with renderings on them and now I wait.... I don't want to force-quit as I have other drawings open that may have unsaved changes.

I would really like to know what's in store for 2024. I hate buying the services select for 2 licences, not knowing if I will need or want the 2024 improvements.
-
Ok thank you for the reply. I guess what I was ultimately confused on was that you could keep getting updates, even though you're not on a subscription plan. I guess the most prudent move is to continue on with service select. The rate at which versions of VW become unsupported means not staying up to date ends up just costing you more later, without the benefits of the new features along the way....
-
I have VW 2023, and plan to use this for a couple years. Is it worth continuing on with service select, or should I let that expire? Now that VW is a subscription model, won't I automatically be on the subscription plan if I upgrade from 2023?

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but maybe some of the info here will help others. I have been in touch with Brendan, and he's been super generous in offering his help to get me going. The hold-up has been on my end as I've been far too busy to spend time on getting this up an running, and I've been putting him off. But the reality is not getting this set up will ensure I stay too busy to set it up. My machine is a Biesse Skill GFT1224. Right now I'm writing all the cabinet part files in Biesseworks, and nesting in Biessenest.

Haha, thanks. I need tons of advice. I love InteriorCAD, couldn't live without it. But I also find that it is not intuitive, or easy to figure out. My end goal is to be able to use it at a level to export fully modelled cabinets direct to my CNC. I am getting there slowly as I work through things like these hardware grids. I'll try that Discord link again soon and let you know if it's expired...
-
This is super helpful. I really need to get my discord account setup. I literally just submitted a ticket to Extragroup a few days ago asking for a tutorial on custom grids. They are not at all intuitive. Thank you @Blinkglitter

I finally heard back from Sven. It looks like I will be able to purchase the upgrade soon. I'll update again once it's finalized. Looking forward to trying out 2023... -

And still no response.... Has anyone else been able to purchase InteriorCAD 2023?
