  1. I created a space using the space tool and chose to have the "room dimensions" shown. The dimension reads 4'2 3/8". Where is the dash (-) that goes between the feet and the inches? Is this not an option?
  2. Ok, got it. Thanks for all your help
  3. What an interesting/self rewarding job that would be. Well, maybe not. I think I got the cabinet thing down. Could you tell me how to change the height of a knob on a door also? I noticed that the knob itself was a symbol? Can I change the "Z" height in the knob symbol itself? If so how would I go about doing that?
  4. Can I change the handle hieght on a door or cabinet?
  5. I have tried to draw in the scale of 1/1. And had the same problems you are. I typically set up my design layers all at the same scale. Usually the most common scale used through-out the project. Adjusting your scale should take care of your hatch problem. I put my text in "annotations" within the viewport (viewsheet?) use 10pt = 1/8 inch. This includes drawing titles. I usually set up my drawing borders in a design layer and viewport them into a sheet layer.
  6. I would like to use a different format for the Finish schedule such as adding and deleting the catagories. Another example would be the use of north, south, east, west in wall locations doesn't always apply. For example, if I have a triangular room or if my building is not oriented n/s/e/w/. How do I access the resourse strings to manipulate this to fit my needs?
  7. Ok, how do I edit the finish locations? I mean the default categories such as "wall, floor, ceiliing, etc"
  8. How do you edit room finish locations in the project preference set?
  9. Can you add custom columns on the data based worksheet? or can you subtract existing columns?
  10. Jeffrey, At our office we typically put the section elevation markers in the floor plan. Since I have more than a single person working on the drawing this forces me to have more than one file. So I have one file with the floor plan and one file with interior elevations. Thanks for your reply. Sincerely, Heather (not a him
  11. I a bit new to section viewports, so please be patent with me. I have created a 3d model floor plan. I would now like to workgroup reference that floor plan to another file and create some interior elevetion. But I would like my section elevation markers in the original file that the floor plan is on. Can I do this?
  12. In the new Verson of VW, can you render a 3d model elevation as a working drawing instead of a presentation drawing. EXAMPLE: Sure save some time if it did
  13. Well I have tried all of your suggestions. The only way (that I have found) to render the wall style texture correctly after it has been replaced is thru the OIP. Any other ideas?
  14. So which way would be better to specify textures? By class? OIP? Wall style? If I have to update each wall that needs to be changed thru the OIP seems to be a bit time consuming. I have also noticed that when I change the wall style the class does not change. I have my wall type set to a specific class when initially draw it. Does this mean I have to go thru and change not only the texture in the OIP but the class as well? This will just not due!!
  15. Ok, I tryed to change the wall to be unstyled but it still did not change and the texture is on the side that I specified.
  16. When I replace a wall the texture (i.e. Siding to brick) does not change when I reder. I am using the OIP to replace the wall with another that I have created. I am not quite sure why this is happening. Any ideas?
  17. I have already created spaces for my model. I would like to calc dim/show dim without fractions on the floor plan. Is there a way to do this? or do I have to set the units right and recreate all of my spaces again?
  18. I have two windows set into a wall. Is there a way to get rid of the wall line in between them?
  19. I am wanting to create a new tool set using commands from the menu. For example, I wouldlike to create a "TOP/PLAN" icon. In Auto cad you can create brand new icons using key commands. Is this possible for VW also?
