  1. Our firm is growing and we are interested in using Workgroup Reference; multi-users working from the same drawing. We have read the manuals provided by VW (not very good nor clear) we have called VW (not very helpful) We have read most of the post on different forums which are somewhat helpful.

1st question- Is there a solid source (manual/person) that can explain this process and help us set it up.

2nd question- We read about splitting the master file up into sections, elevations, ect. Can someone example a little more. Maybe provide a diagram.

3rd question- How do viewports work within the WGR.

4th question- VW tech support (phone) told us you have to copy and paste back into the master file. Can someone explain this to me.

Really any information or source would be very useful to use. Multi-user on the same cad file could be a wonderful thing.

    Thanks

  2. I have been struggling with this problem for some time. We are using all Macs with Tiger along with 12.5.1. Our printer is a HP DesignJet 800ps. I select my paper size in VW document setup. At this moment everything looks great. When printing, my actually paper size changes. For example a 24x36 print (off a roll) is right (measuring 36?) between the VW board, but the actually paper is 2 inches longer making the sheet 38 long. What do I need to do to adjust this to print an actually 24x36. Thanks for the help.

  3. I have recently upgraded to VW 12.5.1 and every since then I have been having some very slow responses within VW, such as refreshing between commands, screen is flickering when certain commands are being used (happens very frequently), and reaction time using certain tools is very slow. I have a windows XP machine (about 2 years old). I have updated my graphic?s card driver. I have reinstalled. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it makes using VW very very difficult. Are there any self checks I can do make sure everything is working properly for VW? Even better, how do I fix my problem? Thanks for our time.

  4. When batch printing I can only get one drawing to print. I put a check in front of the appropriate sheets and only 1 will print. It is usually the first one on the list. I'm using VW 12 on OSX. Any thoughts?

  5. I'm wondering if anyone else has notice a difference between MAC OSX and Windows XP. We have both platforms in our office and lately I have been seeing a huge difference in speed when using VW 12 simple commands, panning, zooming, ect. Is there anything I can to verify if our MAC is working properly with VW 12. Is anyone running VW12 on the new Intel chip (MAC) Any information would be helpful?

  6. I think this is all great. I'm still on clear about something. In VW12 is there way of placing a tag on a door or window without putting it on a schedule. Everytime I get i place a tag on the window or door and don't check the box "ON SCHEDULE" the tag will not show up. EXAMPLE: I could have one tag that represents 10 windows. I don't want the same tag to show up 10 times in the schedule. This seems like an easy thing. Help clear me my head.

  7. Great thanks for your help. I took one of the existing files located in the library and edit it to match our titleblocks. Works fine. I have run into one problem. It seems that there is two boarders one boarder for the page size, i e 24x36 and the other is the one i want. How do I get rid of the 24x36 board. Also when printing, our page seems to come out alittle bigger showing this 24"x36" boarder. Maybe this is the problem.

    thanks for your help.

  8. So yesterday i recieved VW12 and so far i like. In V12, you can create a window or door and a dialog box will pop up. You can design your windows or doors to your liking, in the same pop window you can create a tag and put on a schedule. This is great and easy.... However, what do you do if you are repeating the same window and tag....Is there a way to add the tag but not to show up in the window or door schedule (same window and information). It would be great if you create a tag in the same dialoge box but not put on the schedule.

    Please help.

  9. I have one project file with trying to create a new standard viewport (under FILE) I get this message.

    1. use the existing layerMap G

    2. Import & use the standard layerMap G

    3. Delet the layerMap G worksheet when finish.

Not sure which one to pick. When picking any of them i get this message. "A VectorScript Error has occured. Refer to the file "Error Output" for further expansion." I have an option to view the error, "Error: _3336 _3339 - Index outside array limits."

    I'm using OSX vectorworks 11.5

The file has been working fine up to this point.

  11. I have several details that I have drawn in the design layer and have noted up in the viewport (annotations). How can i put that viewport into my office reference library to be used in different projects/files. Also, will i beable to edit this detail after inserted. Any thoughts? I think I want to create an object from a viewport.

    Thanks
