Isn't this a basic requirement for a "BIM" product?

Newbie VW user. Brought in DXF file to new drawing. No setup run. No views, viewports assigned.Started out in plan view, switched to rendered isomentric-no there is both the plan view and the rendered axon iso. How do I default it to only show the current view while in design mode?

Thanks so much-I'll do that tonight. I should mention my model was quite simple-no NURBS or curves. I wasn't aware of the option you present.

Since I received no answers to my earlier post, and with a deadline looming, I will ask again. How does one convert a solid massing model to floor plans/shell? I ran model setup, then went through the steps listed in the Designer manual explicitly-and nothing happens. I have the training CDs but don't remember this as being covered.

Any good tutorials for ACAD users on Solid to Floor Plan command? Tried steps in Designer manual explicitly, but no floor plans or stacking diagrams created. Don't recall the training CDs addressing this.

I didn't succeed with VW 12.1 or SU 5 either. No dialog box comes up. Uninstalled, reinstalled. Windows. What next?

Has anyone got the SketchUp IMPORT function to work in VW 12.5x? I've reinstalled it a couple of times, and nothing happens when I run it. Windows version.

It works out if both are reduced to XGA. Turns out "at least" means "exactly" or "only".

Got Designer training CDs. Won't run on my laptop (Toshiba Tecra M4), no matter what resolution I set it to. Dialog box says it must be 1024x768 minimum. Higher than that by default. Tried setting it to that resolution, got same error message. Have second monitor attached, but that also is higher resolution.
