  1. Thanks for you suggestions- unfortunately i still can't get it to work. Can you give me sany tips on the type of image I should be using. I was imagining just a normal black sharktooth gauze or similar.
  2. Can anyone tell me the settings to set-up a new texture so I can have a light shining onto a gauze; and that section of the gauze is then transparent ? Many Thanks

    Truss Labels

Hi Michael My problem with doing this is that I loose the parameters of the 'Truss' OIP in the spreadsheet when I change it to a "Lighting Position" Ultimately, I would like: Spreadsheet Column A: Truss Name (eg. Truss A) Column B: Truss Type (eg. Box) Column C: Truss Lenght (eg. 3m) Plan Piece of Truss with Label (ideally linked to what is in the OIP) Am I dreaming? Thanks so much for your assistance
  4. Hello I would be grateful if anyone can advise about options for labeling Truss. I am using the Spotlight Truss PIO: I want to leave it as a PIO as I would like to generate reports about Truss'- however I would like to be able to affix names to the Truss Runs. Ideally, I would like another field in the PIO to add a name. With thanks
  5. Peter Thank you so much- I now understand. And have succesfully put the plug-in into my workspace. Thanks heaps- you've made a big difference ot my day. Cheers
  6. Hi Peter Thanks for your reply. Perhaps I have not explained well. I think my problem is in the Resource Browser Palette. I am trying to use a VectorScript which I have been provided with by a third party. I have placed the .VSO and .VSM file in the plug-in folder within the VW directory. However, when I try to "find resource on disk"; the 'Find Resource' cannot find it. Even though I have "All Resources" selected from the drop down menu- it does not find .VSO or .VSMs..... Does this help clarify my problem? Your assistance is appreciated

    Find Resouce

I am going mad.... For some reason the Resource Browswer 'Find Resource' is not working for me. I can clearly see the resources through "the Finder" and enter the particulars for the desired resource into the 'Find Resource' window to import into my current document. It can never find anything... any ideas- please help! THANKS!
  8. Hello Would appreciate some assistance with this one.... The 'Find Resource' Window does not seem to work for me. I am trying to import a vectorscript into a document. When I enter part of the name in the appropriate section of the 'Find resource' window and then the plug-in folder in which the script is; it does not find the script.... I am using a mac- and can clearly see the vector script in the folder. I have also tried importing the script through: File- Import- VectorScript- and all the objects (VSO / VSMs) in the PlugIn folder are 'greyed out'. Can anyone enlighten me.... Thanks
  9. Thanks heaps- that's fixed the problem- greatly appreciated

  11. Hello Has anyone seen this before.... For simplincy I have created a scene with one layer only; I have set a black backdrop and some Par Uplights in front of the black backdrop. (The lights have 'light on' & 'lit fog'). When I render the layer in front view in the Layers Palette the 'light effect' is visible / renders. However, when I create a viewport- using this same layer; same front view; same render setting the 'light effect' is not visible. Any ideas.... With thanks
  12. Hi Jim Thanks for your prompt reply. I have been able to find this "Light On" check box- but I have no intensity slider near it. (Can I upload files to this tech forum ????) The instruments I am using are from the Slecon Metric Library (part of the Spotlight package.....) Do you have any other suggestions? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
  13. Hello I am new to using the Spotlight features of VectorWorks. I understand that the 'Create Animation' can be used to create scenes showing different lighting states; and the transitions between these states. However, I have been unable to locate where I can adjust the intensity / level of individual instruments (I can do this using the 'Visualisation' "Lights"- but not lighting instruments used for lighting design purposes). I have looked in OIP and the 'edit' section within this but cannot find. Do some instruments not have the ability to have variable intensity? Is there something in renderworks that I need to activate to be able to control intensity? Many Thanks
