  1. Or write a scanner plug-in that would export directly to VW....
  2. Interesting thought.... I have never had it do that, but mine continues to automatically select the non-plot class, and i spen my time converting invisible non-plots back to the correct class.... best of luck
  3. On the mac, pattern were an original feature in the earliest macs, and had to do with the screen density of 72dpi..... they are not scaleable to my knowledge best of luck.... change to hatches
  4. It would be nice to get a response from someone at NNA about this request.... It would be nice to have an area in the main index where bugs could be posted, and discussed. This would benefit all... NNA could get more thorough information about what causes bugs, and we would know what to watch out for and what go arounds to use.....
  5. All I am able to do is rotate it to the correct level.... Ive found no other fix.
  6. Intervest, I would suggest you look on the NNA website for folks that might be able to help you with this task. As stated above, the task you have been given is impossible... it would even be hard to do for a skilled operator in less than a few days or a week (depending on the size of the works). Having said that, Contact a local representative of NNA. Find a local draftsperson who might be able to trade you your new version of VW12.0.1 for the drawings you so desire.... might work. best of luck
  7. I general dont have a problem with 3d section but most of the time I try to do a 2d section, the resultant section is layed on the design layer at a wonky angle.... does anyone else experience this?

  9. I have had a large number of problems inporting DWG files from Autocad... The problem as I understand it is that VW12 can not import from Autocad 2007.... I work in a mixed office environment, and I have to have all of the files exported to autocad 2004 before I can import them onto my machine... To get better 2d imports, have the exporter explode them first.
  10. SU18, I looked up what you suggested, and those are all html files... (internet style)... what he is looking for, I believe, is a total file for the help section, created and accessible in the .pdf format. It is much easier to do searches in and find information. I agree that as far as I am concerned, html help files may be the wave of the future, but I believe it to be a Tsunami, and almost unsurfable. best of luck
  11. I have had this happen for years... dont know the solution, but doesnt bother me so much. I rarely zoom in on renders. best of luck
  12. Ken, You might try designation those mode keys as I have with the numbers 1,2,3,4. Since I never use those in the typing I do in the program, I never accidentally hit them..(which may or may not be the problem)..... easy to remember as well.... and somewhat off the subject, does anyone else have the class mode switch to 'nonplot' at unexpected times.....? it has become a nuisance when I do a bunch of drawing in it and then it all disapears, and I have to reselect and reset the constructed items to their proper classes.
  13. Cristiaan, I have set up one file as a resource file.. it has all of my premade doors, windows, symbols, etc,etc in that file. that file is saved on my hard drive, or could be on the networkserver. I then add it as a favorite file in the resource browser to my new master project startup file. Whenever I open up those files, that favorite file is always attached. anyone else on the network can then access the information on it... save new information onto it, and it is still accessible to all.... would that work for you?
  14. ... Ive played around with it and cant seem to change it other that the title block taking the drawing default text as it is inserted.... change the default text selection when it is inserted and the title changes.... tas all I know
  15. P.R. i find cutting and pasting on a nother location on the drawing, changing it by drag and drop or the OIP, and then grab the end point of the wall and put it back to be the fastest workaround, but it is still a nuisance.
  16. These problems are all happening in files which I have created under 11.5 to but no earlier than 11.5.... I also have it happen when I am changing one wall at a time by dragging the wall style from the resource browser and dropping it on a wall.... if I cut and paste the wall to a location by itself, then there is no problem, but as long as it is joined at one end or more, or unjoined and left in position, it goes wonky.
  17. Robert, Do you know if they have solved the opaque window problem yet.... I am doing master plans for a model home company with 15 models in the works, most of the front wall windows arched, and only 1/2 of the windows will show muntins, or even glass when rendered, yet all are copied and pasted from one original window. Doing renderings is getting quite tedious. is there a solution in site?
  18. There are times I have encountered problems changing wall styles. I select all exterior walls of an older drawing (vw 12.0.1), and do a "replace......" from the PIO menu. When it changes them out one of the following occurs, 1) one or two of the walls goes wonky and the expands outward at an odd angle away from the building. 2) a number of the windows and or doors in the wall disappear. This can also happen if I go to the wall styles and, selecting a new wall style, drop it on an existing wall, one at a time. (sent in as bug) anyone else having that problem?
  19. Sorry bout that..... It Would Be A Great Advantage If You Could Set Up A Bug Submit Area On This Site As One Of The Index Items.... We Could Read Them, Track Them And Know Better What Bugs Occur, And We Could Also Offer Feedback On Work Arounds At The Same Time, And Correlate What Has Caused These Items To Go Wonky..... What Do You'all Think?

  21. Robert, I beg to differ, Garage doors are drawn without a jamb.... on masonry construction, the only item installed to mount the door is on the interior surface of the wall.... the stucco goes on the block on the interior face, and is not shown in plan. I also agree w/ Arch.Ken about extraneous lines being a nusance and bloating the file... It is like convert to line, and finding dozens of hidden no color lines on the drawing, that cant be seen, eminating from the corners of the doors and windows, but are still there.... thanks for all the good work.
  22. you might try placing a solid, vertical extruded pane, white fill and white line, running fore and aft, and another side to side, centered on the building, below the floor joists, to well below the height of the bottom of the foundation.... then when you do the renders, you will not see past that pane.
  23. another solution is set up multiple light sources very near the object and shining on it to lighten only that area.
