  1. I have purchased images from https://www.cadplants.com/ with good results.
  2. Would love to see this tool come to the states.
  3. This tool exists and from what I can tell comes with the Austrailian version of VW. I found this video showing the tool so I contacted OZcad and asked if the plugin was available for purchase, but got a reply that it is not. I really hope that this tool comes out worldwide SOON! Not sure what is going on, but someone is holding out.
  4. Please make it possible to display individual layers as gray in hidden line viewports. As a landscape architect, I would love to be able to gray existing items (ie house) in elevation drawings so that the proposed features appear darker. This works wonderfully in plan view... why not in elevation or section? BTW, I LOVE the new surface hatch feature!
  5. Thanks Jim! I would like to add to this request, the general ability to map attributes on hardscapes. Can do in 2d but not 3d. Thanks,
  6. I'm looking for freelancers to help expand my capacity in the development/drafting of construction drawings for custom residential landscape site design and some commercial. We use Elance, Odesk or other comparable sites to handle the transactions. We use the latest version of Vectorworks and need the work done in VW. We use features of VW landmark and architect. I need someone who has experience with ALL of the following and can show a portfolio of finished work with: Building Modelling DTM modelling Layout / Dimension plans Grading and Drainage plans Elevations & Details Planting plans Landscape Lighting Plans Irrigation Plans Let me know if you are interested. Thanks,
  7. Thanks Alan for the work around. This could get insanely complicated.
  8. When modelling sloped hardscapes as a texture bed on a DTM (pretty much all outdoor hardscapes are sloped) it would be GREAT if we had control over the texture bed rotation. Preferably in the object info palette. Currently the texture bed rotates in relationship to the slope. We currently choose between modelling hardscapes as flat slabs which makes the texture correct and the grades incorrect... OR we show as a 3D texture bed making the grades correct, but the textures rotated incorrectly. I can dream it, but I cannot model it.
  9. This topic is still plaguing me! Every hardscape needs to slope in a real life situation... When I model it correctly, the textures based on the slope... So I either model all hardscapes flat and the rendering of textures look great or I model hardscapes as a texture bed with a slope and the textures rotate and look wrong. Attribute mapping tool does not work to control this. Any advice?
  10. dhbrown, thanks for posting... I've been having the same issue. You saved me much hassle!
  11. I would love to know the answer to this as well.
  12. I'm trying to use the redline feature, but when I use it in the sheet layer, it appears 3000' in the x and 7000' in the y directions. If I use it in the model layer, it show fine, but when I re-position the text, it points out in space (near the point stated above.) Is there a settting I'm missing somewhere?
  13. There is a portion of my Digital Terrain Model where plants will not snap to the surface. Same plant, different part of the site, no problem. Anyone else ever had this problem?
  14. Just called tech support on this and they said you cannot control the color of the dot. BUT, thru trial and error, I did just figure out that you can make the circle outline of the dot appear if you set the Class color to black and then set the class line weight to a heavy line weight.
  15. I am wondering about this as well... cannot figure out how to control the color of the plant dot.
  16. Figured it out... turn off class that controls visibility for interior jambs. (for anyone else struggling with this.)
  17. Hakman, I am also having an issue with the white outlines in door openings... your thoughts?
  18. I'm trying this method of modelling from drawn contours and am running into problems with the model where original spot elevations do not change (even though they are between two new contour lines drawn as site modifiers.) So in cut situations, I end up with little pyramids where the original spot elevation wreak havoc on the model. Any suggestions?
  19. Bryan, will do. My simple tests worked, but when several pads get involved the DTM quits showing proposed contour lines... It still shows the 3D model correctly, but not the 2D. hmmm.
  20. Thanks for the reply... I have upgraded to SP2 and this is still happening. Drawing, DTM, and texture bed all created in VW 2012 sp2. The only variable is the curved vs segmented texture bed. I think I'll start waiting until SP3 to do my upgrading from now on.
  21. I am having difficulty getting textures to appear on a texture bed if the texture bed is a smoothed or curved polyline. It shows up fine if I'm using a polyline with straight segments, but not if includes curves... Does anyone have experience with this? I don't want to redraw these curvy planting beds using little segments. Frustrating.
  22. I did finally figure out that my by class hatching was messing up my joint control... just turned the hatch off and the problem cleared up. I still think it is a bug and should not work that way.
  23. How do you guys go about updating a template from one VW version to another? Do you have to manually re-build all your templates every time a new version comes out?
  24. So I'm still having the problem... what should I do?
  25. Thanks Cipes. That is what I was wanting to do. After more study of different forum threads, I think I discovered why my DTM was not working. I think I was not closing the boundary or the pad... I am making sure they are both closed...now it is working.
