I agree. no amount of memory or disk cleaning will speed things up. Vectorworks is just a slow program without real time zooming. It's frustrating moving things or just zooming and panning drawings. My office runs the latest MACs and they all have the same speed problem. It will never be as fast as smooth as an ACAD type program. Someone please help me on the "slow scroll zooming" posting from earlier today.

does anyone know if this is a vectorworks problem or just a MAC problem? My office is on MAC and it seems to be a universal problem for us. Could Nemetschek people please shed some light on this issue? Larger files are getting prohitivly slow to zoom in!

When will vectorworks come up with "real time" scroll zooming like AutoCad. Scroll zooming has always been sticky with VW and has not improved with 2008. Is this something that is in the works for a update?

I don't think this is a pc or mac issue. This is a perception issue. Most pc users are probably coming from AutoCad which has a real time scroll zoom without any annoying pausing bitmaps. We can try all kinds of settings and upgrade to the fastest equipment, but it is still not going to fix the scroll zooming issue. My suggestion would be for Nemetschek tech people to actually try the AutoCad scroll zoom to realize what posters are referring to. Maybe then, Nemetschek can realize and fix the problem. By looking at the posts, this is a very persistent and real problem. I hope this gets fixed soon in a patch or next version of Vectorworks. Thanks, seaprt

all mac machines in the office have the same problem with different specs. When scroll zooming with the mouse, we get split seconds of pixelation. This must be a common problem as I have seen this issue posted in the past. We are running VW12.

Has anyone had problems scroll zooming on VW12? There is a split second delay for every click of the scroll. It may not sound like a lot, but it can get pretty annoying. I cannot get VW12 to zoom in and out in real time like in ACAD2000. If there is a setting somewhere to speed things up, I'd like to know...

Can a verctorworks tech please update us? This is a real problem when working on serious architectural files. ACAD does this flawlessly in realtime... Is this a mac problem? I noticed the same problem when scrolling on larger pdf files. There is a considerable lag when scrolling... even on the fastest machines in the office.
