  1. After many hours of poking around, I've found what seems to have been causing the problem I described in my original post. I am posting what I discovered, with the hope that it may save someone some trouble in the future. The problem seems to come from how my Default Text Parameters were set. At some point, I had changed the Default Text Spacing to "Other". Some time later, I ran the "Reset All Plug-Ins" command for an unrelated reason. Running the Reset All Plug-Ins command while the Default Text Spacing is set to "Other" causes all instances of Section Lines in the file to display Item and Sheet text as described in my original post. Likewise, if a new Section Line is created when the Default Text Spacing is set to "Other", then the new Item and Sheet text will display incorrectly. To repair existing Section Lines that have this problem, first set the Default Text Spacing to "Single Space" (or one of the other preset spacing options). Then run the "Reset All Plug-Ins" command (or change a setting in the Section Line's OIP that causes the Section Line to regenerate). Steve
  2. I have a file I've been working with for some time. Yesterday, I noticed that Section Lines in which the "item over sheet" option is set, suddenly display the item and the sheet numbers all on one line, over top of one another (I also found that weld symbols are now doing a similar thing: where I have more than one line of reference text, all lines are displaying on top of each other in the middle line position). This happens now when I create new section lines (using the Create Section Viewport command) in the same file. It also happens when I create a new, blank file and create new section lines via the Create Section Viewport command. Any ideas of what could be causing this and/or what I might do to get it working correctly again? Thank you, Steve VW Designer 2009 SP2 Mac OS 10.5.6 iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB
  3. Jonathon: Thanks for the advice. I actually had tried this earlier and it did not seem to work, but since you suggested it, I thought I should try it again. And it worked! I am not sure what I did differently before, but now the revision and issue data are showing up where I intend, and all is good. Thanks for the help! Steve
  4. What I wrote earlier was perhaps unclear regarding the placement of the Title Block. I'll try again.... When the title block is in the edit symbol window, the lower right corner of my title block is at the origin (0,0). This is correct, no?
  5. This is not one of the titleblocks supplied with VW, but it is one that I created entirely within VW.
  6. Changing the text alignment does not seem to change things. The text is displaying several inches (real world inches) from where it should. Also, I have double?and triple?checked that I have the origin set to the lower right-hand corner of my title block (in the edit symbol window). Any other ideas of what I should check? Thanks.
  7. After creating a custom title block in VW 12.0.1, placing it on a Border on a Sheet Layer using the Border's Object Info Palette, and entering issue or revision data; the revision and issue text show up in an incorrect location on my Sheet Layer. I have inserted the proper text codes (:iDate, :rDate, etc.) and followed the procedure described in the Manual for creating custom title blocks. I have even tried copying the text code from one of the default title blocks to see if I had some errant character or text formatting in there, but I get the same result. The y-coordinate of the misplaced text (relative to the sheet layer origin) seems to always be zero (which is not what I intend) while the x-coordinate appears to be correct. In other words, the text appears on my sheet layer in the correct location horizontally, but it is vertically misplaced. The other title block text, which is linked to the Title Block's record, displays as expected. This seems to be a problem only with the revision data and issue data. Does anyone have any advice?
  8. This will not completely satisfy your concern, but I have found the Object Info Palette useful when selecting multiple objects. When selecting objects, the OIP will indicate how many objects you have selected, which, when combined with the selection handle indications, often tells you whether or not you've gotten the selection right. If I am not sure whether or not that line segment (which has other currently selected lines at both its endpoints) is included in my selection, I shift-click on the line in question while watching the object info palette to see the number of objects selected change. If the number of selected objects decreases by one when I shift-click on the line in question, I know it was included in the selection, so I simply shift-click once more and I know that I have it.
  9. Thank you Andrew. I have emailed you a copy of a file exhibiting this problem, along with some explanatory text. I will wait to see what you think before submitting it to "bugsubmit". Steve
  10. Benson- Thank you for your thoughtful response! I am pretty certain though that my problem is not coming from 2D objects mixing in with my extruded circles. One of the models I am working with consists of two extruded circles and one extruded rectangle, with no other 2D objects. Actually, the only workaround I have found for my problem so far is to manually draw the missing lines in the Edit Annotation mode of the Viewport! I should have been more specific.... The lines that are missing in my isometric views are some of the extruded circle's sides. In other words, I have this 3D object that looks like a cylinder, which, when viewed obliquely, should have two lines parallel to its longitudinal axis, one on either side, representing the cylinder's width. In my viewports, one of these lines will be missing, but in the design layer, in a 3D view and rotated to an oblique viewing angle, the lines all appear properly. Thanks again for your input. Steve
  11. I am having a problem with circular extruded objects missing lines in viewports. This is happening when I use hidden line rendering with an isometric view. It seems that rotating the view slightly, sometimes, makes the lines appear, but often other lines disappear at the same time. When I am in the design layer, with an isometric view and hidden line rendering, the object displays properly. When I make a viewport from the view and place it on a sheet layer, lines are missing. I am using VW 12.0.1 on a PowerBook G4. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
