What problem you have. I mastered DTM by myself. Explain more, if you want.

I use Epson 1520 for last two years. Big disapointment with only 13" wide prints is fixed with low price $449. I print final drawings at 1440/24bit color on Epson Super B paper, and enlarge to 24x36" as BluePrint. Prints are crisp, clean, correct and excelent value.

I use 1520 for more than 1.5 year, W98. No problems ever. Print 1440 on SuperB paper for enlarging on 24x36", excelent detail and speed. Must be W2000?! I want to switch to W2000 any more problems?

It been a long time, I use pre cut sheet now, as they have not been availabvle before soo often. I throw my roll set avay.

I use 1520 for last two years. Good size print, full colour on 17x22" my printer prints in 1440 for about 3-5minutes, in 720 goes 1-2minutes. what is slow for you?

Just an update. I have enabled Video BIOS and Video RAM Cacheable in BIOS Setup/Chipset Feature setup.System BIOS Cachaeable is Disabled. I NEVER had any crashes since based on Zoom IN/Out or rendering. Hope this is the right.

Hi, I use Epson 1520. Printing on B3(13x19) and than enlarge to 24x36". Printing in 720DPI is approx 2-3min for the full color page. Printing in 1440DPI takes 10-15min and I found it unnecessary for archi draftings.Be aware that 1520 can peint only 13.6" wide, even is advertised as 17" printer. Epson 3000 can print 18.8" but is $1300 comapring to $450 for 1520. I use Epson Roll Paper.

Also try going in RESOURCES/your curent drawing/DOOR SCHEDULE highlite and delete; now you permanently deleted the old one. I found a way faster to delete it permanently than to fix it.

Beside other wishes I posted in "General Discusion/Undo comand" here is some other concerned only for Architect: -To see multi composed walls as they realy are eg.- 8"CMU Block + 4" Metal Studs/with insulation + 5/8" DryWall on it. Like the small picture you made on the back of the box. -I hoped for Roof Framer function to be realy what you should need, at leest to see beams, joist and other parts of the roof when program is not able to calculate them for you, based on the type of the roof and loads on it. -more details for steel work, Plug-in like Microstation's GeoPak Rebar

Here is more for VW Santa: - Suporting framing or multiple windows what people call it, so you can see Top/Left,Right/Side/ISO views at once. - Suporting Direct3D so we who works with two monitors can use comands where they are not to run back on the Main screen all the time. -Docking palets INCLUDING Atribute palet so you can put it on the top or botom where it belongs. Please leave Info palet as it is. -Change of colour of the entity/object when you put it in the edit mode, so you can finaly reckognize what you are editing-eg.when you have so many walls with same start point and height! -Lock all other entities/object when some or others are in edit mode, so you can NOT unintentionaly move/grab/snep other objects adjoining edit objects. Those are major wishes, all other tech. MISTAKES I hope your programers will fix through the time. And just keep in mind VW IS THE BEST program for the money you can buy for Arch purposes with so many beautiful features and options. Plese try to maintain that position

It is not a problem. It is a small confusig bug, that is very dangerous for the people who DOES NOT KNOW it could be better, that inform you about what is "hiding" behind the buton. I learned hard vay in many CAD programs by making test files and presing anything I could watching what would hapen. I agree with you for the Trim comand, in the cheep DraFixPro I started 10 years ago this would trim anything in the vay of the triming entity. God luck.

Plese disable Symbol insertion tool/buton, it is on the left corner of the tool bar(two butons almost on the top). That buton is useful Off if you want to snap some other symbol oriented object, like cabinets/bath tubs etc. to the wall intersection/lines.

This hapened again. This time not in Zoom/Pane but in Rendering/wireframe. It just stoped responding, so I had to switch off computer. NO BIos setings were enabled!!!!! Plese fix this problem.

No. It is small explanation box or info box usualy light yellow, and text inside explain what that buton is for. It will pop-out when you point cursor on it, without executing any comand, and will desapear in 3-6 secondsIf you did not have 8.0 or 8.5 you will hardly reckognize the problem. I talked with Phone Support people and they acknoweledged the mistake.

Plese split UNDO comand to Undo-edit and Undo-view. Right now you undo zooms, pane, or any view or comand what is NOT CRITICAL OR DANGEROUS for file. Undo-view is not needed at all!

Plese sugest the seting for BIOS as SYSTEM BIOS,VIDEO BIOS, VIDEO RAM, and shedowing part of BIOS. I found that if you ENABLE SYSTEM BIOS VW would probably crash sooner than without it. In what address VW write?

Trim comand is very messy, compering to other programs, try not to use it, I think it is something with INTERNAL ACCURACY of the program, I foun today IT IS SIMPLY NOT HOLDING "0", that mean your lines are not touching each other, zoom all the vay and you will se that is a gap in them! DGS people shoul fix this, if possible.

Make any poly line, I prefere Bezier,leave it in EDIT mode, go to MODEL/CONVERT TO 3D POLYS when is converted in OBJECT INFO PALETS tou will se X Y Z. Z would be 0. Put elevation you want in Z. Now to save you hours of fixing: make 3DPOLY editable go to DTM/FILTER 3d POLYGONS. I work in 1"=40' so I chose 0.1' as tolarnce. If you do not filter you will have on approx. 500' about 600-700 vertices depend how twisty poly is, if you filter you will have 25-40!!!! To edit each 3D Poly, click on it in OBJECTINFO you have MOVE ENTIRE OBJECT or MOVE VERTEX ONLY. Select VERTEX ONLY right mouse click and select edit, voila you have 3D poly with all the vertices, zom to object(to see it all) in OIP find <-> something like this, if you click in the midle you will see on 3D which vertice is On, move it left/right where you want. If you ADD Vertice, comand from the tool bar on the top, + sign, Z will be zero, type the elevation in Z field. If you forget to do it go to Front or left or right view and you will se if you have any of htem on the Z=0, if so same procedure. Be cerfull with DTM, more Vertices more time to calculate, some time 2-3 hours. Good luck

If I select Clasess/active only some of them as Furniture(objects are only 3D symbols)is transparent-objects are there but I can see them, in any view or rendered?

Calculating Cut & Fill on 1.5A lend in 1:480scale after doing OK on OldDTM and NewDTM, calculate Cut & Fill and goes til the end and leave blank window where used to be DTM Status Window in 8.1. Some time if DTM goes more than 15-20 seconds DTM Status apears some time not. After "till the end" program crash(not computer). When restarted,if you try without re-booting computer it want work, but other programs are OK, there is no more OldDTM and NewDTM even you SAVE them JUST before starting to calculate Cut & Fill????

Pop-ups on 8.5.1 does not work or work sporadicaly. Make poly line,right mouse click-Edit, go on the tool bar, check "ADD VERTEX/DELETE VERTEX/and other buttons. Some of them pop-out some do not??No problem with 8.1!

I have 8.5.1 and Architect and I have the same problem.PentiumII 350/Maxtor Milenium G400 32Mb/RAM 384Mb/Win98. Please consider this serious problem and test vide cards you can recomend!
