  1. I have set up a file for five story building. I then made 5 copies of the file ( one for each floor) and then referenced the floor design layers back into the original file. When I cut a viewport section on the referenced layers many of the section styled walls, stairs, floors etc. do not show up or show unfilled. If I break the reference they work fine. If I cut the same section in the referenced file itself they work fine. What is going on? Any help would be appreciated. As a simple example, if I create a stair on the first floor plan and cut a section through it the stair and landing show gray ( as my section style is set for). If I update the referenced layer in the target file and cut the same section, it shows up white and the landing doesn't show at all! (VW 12.5)
  2. I'm talking about changing the user field list in the door settings menus under data tab. The end of the list provides 10 User Fields which I can use and rename on the schedule but I cannot change the user field name in the settings so someone knows where to go put in hte information. Any thoughts?
  3. How do I rename user field 1 , user field 2 etc. once I have put them on door schedule? I can insert Userfld1 into column but then no one elese can tell what user filed 1 represents. I need to be able to rename User field .
  4. I was wondering where it went. One of the best tools. Keep 3d section by all means.
  5. I'm using US Arch Vert. title block. When i use "edit title block" and add scale to "sheet scale" it does not change. Also there is no option to change plot date. but I am guessing that may change automatically with issue options. Anyone else having problems with title blocks?
  6. Unfortunately I found out that you have to re-enter benchmark on each elevation marker. So the only fix I've found is to draw a guideline on the viewport sheet that aligns with the revised (due to scale change) benchmark. Then go to annotation mode and select all and 'cut'. Then click out of annotation mode and move viewport elevation drawing to align with benchmark guideline. Then back to annotation mode and 'paste in place' previously cut benchmarks and notes. And then hope that I don't have to change the scale again. Oh well.Am I missing something?
  7. I set up a section viewport at 1/4 " sacale and used the elevation benchmark ( in the annotation mode) to set the floor heights etc. I have the auto set relative to ref. elevation turned on. All is well until I change the viewport scale to 1/8" and all my benchmarks change. Any way around this? I suppose I could calculate the change and re- enter my benchmark, but this is a computer after all.
  8. Stevek, Your'e the winner! thank you so much for your input. It worked for me also ! I'm wondering how you ever figured that out, since the error messages pointed to a quicktime problem. Anyway thanks again for your help. Burch
  9. Quicktime version is 7.02.
  10. This is the second time I have encountered this problem. Vectorworks-(Architect,renderworks) 12.01 refuses to open and says it has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Error reports always point to Quicktime problem. The last time this happened I had to re load V12. This time I will have to re load 12 and then update to 12.01 again! I've got work to do!!! Any thoughts out there as to what is causing this problem ? This is very annoying.(Using PC - 2GB Ram )
