  1. Less frequent but still crashing. I always save before using the flyover tool. But I had infrequent crashes on my previous iMac too..
  2. I'm not having a consistent problem with the flyover tool but it does crash once in awhile..
  3. Since then has locked up once, no particular reason. I’ve mainly been rendering without issue. I’ll try some other tools.,
  4. Downloaded and installed this morning:
  5. Updated to macOS 10.13.4 and have been using VectorWorks 2018 SP3 on my iMac Pro all day. Hasn't crashed once!
  6. Thanks Bob! FYI I'm comparing the iMac Pro with a two-year old iMac, configuration attached. Aside from frequent crashing with Vectorworks 2018 (which occurs on both machines actually although not as often), I'm getting used to the speed. When I use the iMac for comparison, it seems painfully slow. I've never been happy with the fusion drive setup, always seems to lag. Anything you'd like to test?
  7. Just got an iMac Pro with the attached configuration. Although its much faster, especially with Renderworks, I'm experiencing frequent random crashes. It doesn't seem to be tied to anything specific, just ordinary tasks such as stretching or moving an object in top/plan. Hopefully the bugs will be worked out soon..
  8. In Vectorworks 2018 SP2, every time I try to use the Foliage tool, Vectorworks quits. I select the tool, draw a poly line and .. crash. Is there a setting or something I'm missing? -Allen
  9. No, I'll give it a try. Would save time changing back to the override settings. Still can't figure out why the settings are being lost..
  10. I've got a house design with multiple elevation viewports on sheet layers. Each sheet layer is a different combination of class settings and layers to illustrate several variations. The problem is that sometimes, not all times, the sheet viewports "forget" the override settings and revert to the current class settings. Huge waste of time to go back and change each material back to the override setting. Any thought on why this is happening?
  11. This works great! However, I can't figure out how to use custom profiles. The video seems to show dragging a profile from the resource manager to the object info palette but can't get that to work. Any instructions?
  12. That was it! I used the Center on Internal Origin tool and fixed it. Thanks!
  13. A new model I created has a foreground plane which cuts through the 3D view. How is this controlled or turned off? Clip cube is not turned on...
  14. I've run in to this while trying to change wall textures by object or component for individual multiple viewports of a housing unit on a design layer. 1. As a test, I created two walls using the brick veneer-wood studs-sheetrock style on a base design layer. 2. Set one to overall texture by object class and the other to component texture by brick veneer class. 2. From the base layer, created two viewports on a composite design layer. 3. On the composite layer, on one viewport, changed the class texture settings for both the wall class and brick veneer component class to a different brick texture, use document settings button unchecked. 4. No change to viewport. 5. Changing the document settings for the same wall and component classes changed both viewports. There are no class override buttons for the viewport on a design layer just a current document setting toggle. However, other class or layer visibility changes work. Placing the same viewports on a sheet layer does provide override options. Not sure if this is a bug or a feature.. walls.vwx
  15. I agree, no point in allowing class selection if it doesn't change the setting. Never done it but will try to submit as a bug. Thanks for your help!
  16. That’s what I discovered, works on a sheet layer but not on a design layer.
  17. Art, here are screenshots of class settings for viewports on a design layer and a sheet layer, they're difference. No class override setting when on design layer. On the sheet layer, the class override works..
  18. In case anyone would like to help with this, here's a simplified file with two walls, one set to texture by object and the other by component. Then two viewports from the base layer are created on the composite layer. I've set the textures for component and wall object to different textures with no change from the document settings. I'm sure I'm missing something.. walls.vwx
  19. I think that's exactly what I've tried, several times. I must be missing something. I can show/hide objects by class but not change the textures. Would you like to examine the file?
  20. Thanks, tried that, didn't change the texture but maybe I'm missing something. On base design layer, wall textures are set to a class texture (I tried walls as components and objects). On composite design layer, changing different viewports class settings has no effect. BTW the design viewports on the composite layer don't have a button for override class settings, just use current document which I've unchecked..
  21. Now I have another issue which I posted in another thread. So I've created a composite model on a separate design layer and am able to change the visibilities separately by class for each viewport. However, in 3D I can't vary the wall textures by class for each viewport. All walls are set with textures by class for both the wall and the component but each viewport shows the document texture class setting. The only way to vary the texture by class seems to be to place the viewports separately on a SHEET layer which then gets back to the original issues since I can't annotate the composite. Argh! Any solutions?
