that's the point, I have it as a menu command and as a tool, so the user may choose how he/she will use it.

You can change the class of eacht part in the window pio. you do not need to explode it.

I have a tool that ask no user input, so It has to be executed immediatly after selectin it. How can I do this, because standard you'll need to click somewhere to make it work.

well, if I dock the pallets, then I have not enough space to draw. What I was trying to do is setting them unpinned so the fold/unfold automaticly. I hope it will be resolved in the next update. thx for the help.

If you put your windows and doors in class A. Then put all your objects of your windows and doors in other classes, but nog in the class A. Then put you're loci in class B. When you then show only class A and B, you'll get just the opening and not the door or window complete.

That problem I have too. And in another list, the one where you can say with which program every kind of file must open, I have 2 times VW.

Everything is fine in photoshop, that's the only other program I have working with palettes I know of. But I think they are not the same. I reinstalled my XP computer wich is my desktop. Vista is on my laptop and that's brand new.

Well, I had set it to 1. That's the smallest vista will go. And 1 is exactly like the first picture. I do not mind that that border is there. What I do mind is that it is black. I tried many different colors (even white and the default light gray it was on) but everytime I open VW, it's black.

Katie, I think you mean this?: Well, the minimum width of this border is 1 like in my first post, and no matter wich color I set it to, it's always black in VW. My version of Vista is: Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit edit: My videocard driver is the latest.

K, I had clicked on YES. but everytime, the file association gets wrong. But it is all fine now, I updated my graphics card driver (it was dated from 2004) and it works now, although I do not get what the problems have to do with my graphics card. (GeForce 6600)

Well, katie, I do not know what all of this has to do with my videocard, but ever since I updated his driver (yesterday evening), all works fine. I looked at the version and it was from 2004, so I updated it

Since VW doesn't work well on my desktop, and while waiting on the solution and finding the root on the problem, I do my work (that has to be done) on my laptop. my laptop has vista on it and VW works withouth any problems, It works just fine, just better than fine. I only hate those black borders you get around the palletes. Because of the small screen, I let them fold up automticly, so I save space, but the black border takes much space and it is ugly.

K, I did that but it doesn't resolve the case. I also looked at my firewall for that internetcommunication VW asks for: What's Architect125NL.exe doing there??? So maybe there is a problem with the update? I really want to get to the bottom of this and knowing why this is happening.

I thought it worked, but It stays the same.

I updated quicktime, put my 'corrupted' workspace back in, and I had no problem at all. I do not know what's happening here. PS: I think my pc is alive!

well, its always the same like I said in my first post: It wants to start and load the screen with info on which version etc. but when VW normaly puts on this info, it closes. And that's not all. Continuing on my previous post: When VW keeping open, all works fine, even my workspace works fine, so I think that the problem with the workspace was the version of quicktime. But when I close VW, the next time I open it, I can open the files, I can open VW, but not by doubleclicking the file. so I must reassign it again. Why would this not stay assigned to VW? an what is VW doing when it closes? And another question: Why is my firewall saying that VW gets incomming communications???? It's really driving me nuts. Here is a screenshot of the Two VW my pc seems to know, but the files only open with the second one, but after closing VW all files are back assigned to the first one:

So when I open a file by double clicking on it, it does not work. When I choose for Open With... I get the list of programs to choose from. VW is in it but it wont work, so when i then choose browse and go to the VW folder I select VW and it works, but there are now 2x VW in the list when I use Open With... How can my PC see 2versions of VW when there is only 1 installed? Can this be a result of the update to 12.5.2?

now it really goes nuts: Everything was k, I installed the latest version of Quicktime. When I then opened VW, I got the message that VW is not tested with that version. So for so good. But then I got the message if I want to open all my .mcd files with this version of VW. Like I have installed another version of VW?!?!? I just did nothing. There are strange things happening here.

I just copy the standard one and then add my custom objects to it. my version of quicktime is 6.5.1 (because i reinstalled my pc), so I will try to update it and see if it work.

So if I understand it correctly, IFC is actually a way to standardisize the way we draw for better exchange with other programs. We just need to say what kind of object it is and what values the parameters have. Then another program will know that too and can create calculations on this. So if you create your drawing in IFC then you are actually creating it like BIM but with kind of standards. So IFC is a standardisized BIM. Actually you can compare this to the use of classes (in VW) or the use of layers (in AC). you can use your classes the way you want (BIM) but you can also use them in a standardisized (IFC) 'format' so that everyone knows what's in it and that everyone use the same names. So everything is just evolving, first the use of classes and now BIM, that's great, I love it. But there is a small problem with it: 90% of the architects, drawers etc. I know of don't even use classes. so how will they use BIM/IFC? This standardisation thing is a really great thing, but I think it is first time to learn people how to use the basics (classes and BIM). Most people (not me!) do not see the advantage of using Classe/BIM, so they just not using it. There is a lot of work to do.

The problem is that it seems to become corrupted when it is created. Can this has something to do with a kind of conflict between VW and my PC? because the only 2 programs I have trouble with are VW and IE.

I do not really know what IFC is and stands for, I would like to know more after reading this, so can someone give me a link to a site with more info on IFC?

you can have what you want with hatches: just make a new hatch for every room; that way you can control the center point (or zero point or whatever you wanne call it) for each room. Notice that you can set the start point of a hatch? set these to the point where you want to start it for the room. This way you will have many hatches, but they are still hatches.

Now that i reinstalled my pc, almost everything works fine. There is only one little problem: Every workspace I make gets corrupted. So I am doomed to use the standard workspaces that comes with VW. I do not know why this happens, but what parameters can cause a corrupt workspace? Or is it not know what causes it? Are there things you may not do in a workspace? Or other options to be aware of?

That's not it, you can see a list of ALL programs on your pc in windows. and there is no VW. And VW is in the start menu.
