  1. Hi,

I am not too good with VW, especially Architect. I am trying to create a roof for a rectangular building that is 33'x31'. The roof needs to be a 6:12 slope, with a dormer on each side that is the full width of it's side. I have tried creating a hip roof, and then adding dormers of the dimensions I want, and can't get it to work out. What is the right way to do this? BTW I am using old-school Vectorworks 12 (not 2012).

I googled and found a picture of what I want:

    Thanks,

  2. Yes, I tried that, still doesn't work very well.

Another question: I am trying to put in a counter top with a laundry sink, and when I try to give it a sink it says the hole isn't cut. What's wrong?

  3. I can't seem to figure out the wall joining thing very well. Here are some pictures of what happens in one of my problem spots:

I've tried the X-join, T-join, and L-join modes, but whatever I do, it seems one of the others goes wrong. I'm sure it's just something I'm missing.

    Thanks,

  4. Hi,

I'm trying to render a house, and I created a roof from the walls. I want to have the top of the roof render differently from the sides, but when I try to change it, nothing happens. It is still the grayish color on the sides. I am using 12.5.1 on a Mac.

    Thanks,

  5. Hi,

I am using VW 12.0.0 Design Series. I recently started trying house designs, and found that I can't seem to select different layers at the same time. I need to go to the layer that the object I want to select is in, and If I want to do something to more than one layer at once, it's impossible.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

  6. Hi,

I haven't used VectorScript before, and I want to rotate some 3D objects when I double-click on the command. It would be pretty complicated, but I think it's plenty possible. What I want is something I can start with, that has what I need to do it, and all I need to do is type in the fields. I also haven't figured out how to identify an object...other than stuff like last created object.

What I want to happen (see picture) is for the machine to grab a log, and set it in with the rest of them.

Sure, it would be nice to learn how to use VS, but that's not going to happen anytime soon, so I just need something to get by.

    Thanks,

    Arbor
