  1. Hi friendly VW users. What is the secret to instaling Vectorworks Architect/Renderworks from scratch onto a Mac with OS X10.11.16? Some background for you: I'm a bit rusty with this kind of thing. I own the software, I don't think I have ever had a DVD & I can only find a support download to update an existing installed version of Vectorworks (Architect/renderworks to SP6). Note I accidentally installed Mac OS Mojave on my main computer before reading it's a bad idea for Vectorworks 16 users ... so I will install it onto another computer with an older Mac OS. Thanks in advance for your advice, F.
  2. I agree. This would let me apply artistic renderworks hidden line renderings on top of a Final renderworks rendering for example. ... and adjust the transparency / darkness of the sketchy lines. At the moment I can only get light grey with the chinese rendering mode.
  3. I'm also interested in this topic. I would like to automatically display the "Sheet Number" and "Sheet Title" from the "Navigation" palette in my custom title block. I understand this might require using the "Issue Manager", "Sheet borders". I read this in "Sheet Border Properties" in Vectorworks 12 help: If Use Automatic Drawing Coordination is enabled in document preferences, the sheet layer is automatically updated if the Sht Title Line 1 is changed. Similarly, if the Sheet Number value is changed, the sheet layer and any annotation objects (drawing labels or section markers) on the sheet layer that show this information are updated automatically. I also read that these features may be restricted to using default "US Arch title blocks" ... Is it true that if I want to make a custom title block here in Europe I can't use Automatic Drawing Coordination? ... or is there a workaround by adapting the outlook of an existing default US title block?
  4. I have a wish or two. When designers in our office update the name of a furniture symbol via the resource browser I would like a text block within the symbol to display the symbols updated name immediately. In addition each symbol instance previously placed on the drawing should also be automatically updated to reflect the name change. I thank you in advance for any tips that would help my wishes come true. I currently use VW2012 Architect P.S. I understand Record formats and the link text to record function quite well ... The challenge here is slightly different and tries to avoid the confusion some users have between the name field in a record format and the name of symbol instance itself. Also note that symbols will be listed in a report and summarized by symbol name (no record formats required).
