  1. Re installexd Windows XP (clean) . That did wonders... Thanks
  2. I use a screen capture program on the PC called "Instant Demo" to record real time walk through & fly over in open GL mode.= with a voice over description. Then I save it to a flash animation file, like 10 times smaller than QuickTime. Good for tutorials too. http://www.instant-demo.com/download.htm
  3. I use this great free app to measure cpu use during rendering. http://www.download.com/3000-2094_4-10684373.html?tag=dl.1 Select "view" / "System Information" and watch it as it renders your image.... view multi cores I need to find one that measures graphic card use.

  5. When I render i mostly use final quality renderwoerks with a background site picture (attached exterior render took 20 sec http://www.azmediaone.com/Renderings/WNW1.jpg interior render took 2 min 20 sec http://www.azmediaone.com/Renderings/Interior_Living.jpg proccesor use of rendering the interior image, about 30% to 45% http://www.azmediaone.com/Renderings/horne_int_w_ext_on.jpg
  6. I called tech support, they just said flat out that VW does NOT support quad core AT this time ;-(......
  7. my new machine is core 2 quad with a nVidia 8800. Rendering is faster but the CPU is running at 25 to 30%. Im a LITTLE disapointed, to say the least.... Rendering In Vectorworks is mainly dependant on the processor now. Are there plans to take advantage of the new line of high end graphic cards for rendering? Maybe even encoprating a third party rendering engine like Crytek?s CryENGINE 2 http://www.crytek.com/screenshots/index.php?sx=cryengine2&px=environment_set6_new.jpg Real time 60 to 80 FPS rendering what it takes VectorWorks on a Core 2 Quad two hours for one frame ????? check the link above, the future is here? maybe...

Also VectorWorks should incorporate the Crytek Render engine. See http://www.crytek.com/technology/index.php?sx=eng2 check the part where they compare REAL scene to RENDERED http://www.crytek.com/screenshots/index.php?sx=cryengine2&px=environment_set6_new.jpg
  11. Issue resolved in VW settings, for now? Turned down ? retain 3D model? then turned it back up. Anyway thanks for the notes
  12. (PS Below issue resolved with settings) Version 12 IS Dramatically slower in OpenGL rendering. The real time flyover & walk through NO LONGER even functions.(only displays online box) (PS Below issue resolved with settings) [ 01-12-2006, 08:53 PM: Message edited by: AZ MediaOne ]
