  1. Sounds like your workspace or plug-ins folder might have been corrupted. Try switching to a different workspace and then back to the Spotlight workspace. If that doesn't work try reinstalling VW.
  2. I spoke to one of the engineers at Nemetschek and apparently it's an issue with OSX. Apparently one of the OSX Patches released by Apple changed something and that disrupted the trackpad zooming.
  3. Rotate your instruments within the symbols so that they point to the right instead of up.
  4. I have a file that has decided to scale all the text in my label legends by 1/2. That is to say if a label is drawn as 10pt text in the label legend it is displayed as 5pt text in the drawing. This has happened to all the label legends in the drawing not just one. I've tried deleting the label legend and importing a fresh one from another drawing. I've tried creating a new on from scratch. Copying and pasting the units to a new file restores the label legends text to normal. Any thoughts? -Nik
  5. If you have changed the scale of your layers without unclicking the scale text checkbox all your text, including labels will rescale.
  6. How do I create a Chain Dimension using scripting. Basically want to grab a bunch of symbols, run a script, and end up with an associated Chain Dimension going to the insertion point of the symbol. I've figured out how do this and end up with a bunch of individual dimension objects but not how to associate and chaindimension them.
  7. This is done fairly easily by editing your workspace. (Tools:Workspaces:Workspace Editor). Choose Edit a Copy of Current Workspace. Rename it something useful. In the window that pops up select the menu comand from the right hand column. Select which Ctrl, Alt, etc. combo you want to use. Then hit the desired key. If another command already use that combo it won't let you use it. Either remove the shortcut from the other command or pick a different shortcut. Sound more complicated than it really is.
  8. Sometimes its just faster to make your own. I usually will create a rectangle the size of the unit with an arrow to indicate direction. If you're looking for 3d drawings call CK. They may very well have them.
  9. The objects within your symbols, ie the actual lines etc. are probably not in the same class that you had active when you converted them lighting positions. When you choose "active class only" the class of the lines etc. within the symbol are not in the currently active class and poof they disappear. But since the Lighting Position Object IS in the active class it appears invisible but you can still select it.
  10. LW is not as smart as VW when it comes to importing. It doesn't always figure out that Gobo = Template. Not sure why you can't import accesories into LW. Check to make sure that VW has assigned them a type. (Static Accessory for Tophats, Barndoors, Accessory for Scrollers, Goborotators etc.) Personally accesories is something that I find don't translate well between LW and VW. Mainly cause LW has a field for accessories and VW doesn't.
  11. Trying to use the TestFace command to set the current text style to Plain. I can't seem to find the proper indentifier. So far I've tried Textface([Plain]); Textface([PlainText]); Textface([Plain Text]); Textface([0]); Textface(0);
  12. If you're trying to move channel circles or other containers unfortunately you can't unless they have a value. I think this is something that should be fixed. Either don't show the container or allow it to be moved.
  13. I would like to create a custom symbol with a boolean in it. Preferably a checkbox that would go below the position and rotation in the Obj Info box. When the boolean is TRUE, the text in that instance of the symbol is grayed out. When it is FALSE it is Black.
  14. I figure I could use CHR() but can't find a reference chart. Thanks
  15. Just installed VW12 Spotlight on my Mac running OSX 10.3.9 Having lots of issues with the program crashing especially when I'm moving instruments. Also having issues with moving a unit and then UNDOing. It leaves an echo of the Label Legend on the screen about 6 inches off of the unit. This then moves with the unit and doesn't go away if I do a screen redraw.
