I don't want it to be a cable number, but just a list number and I don't want it attached to the cable. I don't want these numbers to be attached because if I reorganize the report ascending/descending/summarizing, the numbers will be all skewed. For example, in the photo from excel just numbering the rows 1-31 or however many. I was hoping I could just type 1, 2, 3, then drag like I do in excel, but vectorworks seems to not have that function. I was wondering what the equivalent to that would be.

I've been trying to find the numbering function for the ConnectCAD reports and haven't been able to find it. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I can't manually put them in when there's a dialog box there, and I don't think I can remove the dialog box without removing it from the other rows. What would the numbering function be?

I've tried a few approaches and none seem to work. I've tried changing it individually per socket and the overall class and nothing seems to get them to pop up on the BW drawing. I even tried to even make the fill black and change the pen thickness, and that won't show up on the published drawing either. VECTORWORKS BW TEST 8.pdf

Okay, thank you! Is it possible to change the default Pen from None to Black or does it have to be done individually?

Here! I attached a file. It seems every other socket type shows up but the default one. VECTORWORKS BW TEST 3.pdf VECTORWORKS BW TEST.vwx

I've run into an issue with pieces of information being updated in one place and not the other. I attached information from a custom record to a piece of text in my device. That works, however, it seems that the records do not stay attached to the device once the device is created into a piece of equipment. As you see below, I have attached a Unique Identifier, that is a part of a custom record, to a piece of text that is displayed on the device. This was then created into a piece of equipment and placed in a rack. However, once created into a piece of equipment the record was no longer attached, and any of the information in the record attached to the device was no longer seen in our report. It was only seen as blank as the device was moved to the equipment section of the report. I then had to reattach the record to the piece of equipment to be able to edit this information. To my knowledge, this would mean the information on the same item can be different. The main issue is that if someone were to change the Unique Identifier on the piece of equipment, then the Unique Identifier displayed on the device WILL NOT change and will remain completely different and vice versa. Also, I noticed the Unique Identifier in the report is attached to the equipment piece not the device, therefore the displayed Unique Identifier can’t be managed from the report because the item is no longer a device. This is critical to our process as it doesn’t allow us to edit the device from the report and allows for important information to be edited in one place and not updated in the other. Is there a process to prevent this that I am missing?

When publishing drawings of schematics in Black and White I noticed that the sockets were missing, but when I published the drawings in color the sockets seem to be there. Is there a class setting or feature that would allow them to be seen on a Black and White drawing?

@Nikolay Zhelyazkov Thank you so much, I was able to make the text smaller! I have a quick follow up question, though. Is it possible to have the text be smaller and not have the make and model on the equipment? We don't want the make and model on the equipment in our rack drawings, but we want to keep the smaller font.

I had a few questions regarding the rack equipment. 1. How do you change the text size of the equipment in a rack? 2. Why do some have the make/model (the N/A's) in the corner and some don't? Is that a symbol? 3. Is it possible to make a report that only contains what's in a rack? i.e. I want to create a report of the all the equipment in only a single rack.

That worked! I was using a preformatted report by Vectorworks and it had the formula as =1

I've been having issues with the "QTY" column not working on the reports. I tried to use the summarize feature on the model row to condense the devices that have the same model. However, when I did this the QTY never changed even when there were multiple models. Is there a way to condense devices with the same model and also show their quantity in the report?

I had a few questions about inserting items as hardware versus equipment! For example, is it possible to have the blank panels inserted into the racks as hardware versus equipment? Also, is there a way to insert them without putting them on a layer? Is there an option in Vectorworks/ConnectCAD to do so?

Hello, I have an issue with scaling. The image with all the sockets the exact same size is from one of my other projects where I saved a bunch of my devices as symbols in order to use them in other projects. The image that has improper scaling is what happened when I tried to add devices from my previous project to my new project from the device tool, then place additional sockets and a cable. Both of the projects have the same scaling, 1:1, and have All Layers and Scale Text turned off. I've tried a bunch of different scales (Including 1/4", which was mentioned to work for someone else, but I am unsure if they had the same issues as I do.), and none seem to fix the problem. Would there be a way to make the sockets and the cable labels the appropriate size? I didn't have this problem throughout the last project and its different layers, just when I started a whole new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
