How do I do a search to find out where the problem is? I've tried rendering just the house and landscape separate and the house renderes fine...so I figured the crashing had to do with the landscape. I brought each plant type in one at a time and rendered it to find out what was cause the problem...I got rid of the ones that didn't work and it fully rendered once with shadow. So I don't know what else I can do to make it work. I tried to do a final render again but it still came up blank, but I can see the light source and click on the link layered objects. Is there a final render options where I can select what I want it to do?

I'm trying to do a final render on my 3d model, but when the render is complete nothing shows up...does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Thanks,

Has anyone used this before? I'm trying to create a walkthrough movie of a 3d house model. The info in the books isn't that great. 1.) Do you have to render the drawing first then do the walk through or do you walk though in wire frame then render each time? 2.) How do you move up and down stairs to get to the other floors? Thanks,

I was wondering if there is anyway to give a polyline or rectangle its length/size when drawing them (like in autocad), instead of drawing them first then going to the obj info then giving the obj its dimension. Thanks

Can anyone point me in the right direction on creating backgrounds? The only way I know how to add background is to use an image. The only thing is that when I apply it, the backgound shows up with the house suck in the middle...is that what it's suppose to look like...if so. it looks very strange. If anyone knows a better way please let me know. Thanks,

Hey Guys, I'm having the same problem, but my file is 406MB and just under 10,000sqft with landscape. The program crashes at the end of the geometry part and sometimes it will render half way then stop like it has finished. I've tried purging the file, changing the symbols so their not so complex, but it still crashes. If anyone can help that will be great...I'll try anything!

Hey Nam, Kind of confused what to do. I'm I suppose to open a new drawing before I do this or open one of the sub file and does this file become the master file? After doing this, if the files that are being reference can not be opened or used...then how can I added things to the sub file? Thanks,

Thanks guys, fogot to check the transparency box. Hey Nick, As for erasing the background...you take the wand tool, highlight the are you want to erase and then use the eraser to remove it... hope this helps. Toggle

Hi guys, Does anyone know how to get rid of the background when you create an image prop? I've opened the image in photoshop and erased the background, then imported it into vectorworks as an image prop...but the background is still there. I've also tried to mask transparency...but it does't seem to work either. I'm not sure if I'm doing the process right. Does anyone have a clue. Thanks

Hi again, So I tried what you said and it worked, but only on in a new file. When I tried to insert it into a old file and hit the render button...the image doesn't show up. What am I doing wrong!

Hey Nicholas, So when you me extract do I import the tree file into the file that I'm working on...and if so how do I extract the background? Or do I extract the background in a different program then import it? Thanks alot I really appreciate it.

Hey Travis, My computer is a Mac G5...not sure about the ram and processor. As for rendering...more then half the drawing is image texures while the landscape is done in plain colours. I've been importing dxf files of 3d trees...could this be affecting it? What do you mean by simplifying the geometry? Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm creating a 3d model of a house/landscape and everytime I try to render it the program crashes. As of today the file is 1.38GB...is that normal? thanks
