  1. posted 09-20-2000 11:19 AM ??? ? ?? ?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We are currently using a network of Macs with Vectorworks 8.5.1 and have 2xHP Plotters (350c and 450c) on our Ethernet network. We currently plot using MacPlot software. However, we are looking to buy a new plotter (we need another for volume output) and would also like to output full colour images. At present, our MacPlot software does not allow us to do this. We could upgrade our MacPlot, but have been told that we can achieve the same results by buying an HP488CA PostScript Plotter, connecting it to our network using a EX Plus Ethernet device and then using Apple's LaserWriter 8 driver. Is this correct? If so, it would be a lot cheaper than upgrading our software. However, I have also read a message on this board that says that another user had a problem printing to rolls of paper with the 488CA and VW, and could only use cut sheets. We don't want to use cut sheets (or at least would like the option not to). Can you confirm that we will be able to print to roll media with this configuration? Thanks for your help. Paul
