  1. These are in fact from the New England Classic profile catalog, so they are different.
  2. Thank you, gentlemen. Brudgers was correct--an apparently corrupt/mangled/"mishandled" file path for the auto backup. Though it seemed to read correctly , I reset the path and all is peaches and cream.
  3. Can anyone explain this error message and/or how I can ameliorate the condition? I am not in fact opening a file, and as far as I can tell, the only adverse effect is the nuisance of the pop-up. It began after an Erase and Install because of HD problems. [img:left]http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4100/errorw.png[/img]
  4. Glad it worked out. It might seem harder from lack of use--I know for myself that when I 'm away from some component of this vast and powerful program it takes a while to get comfy again.
  5. I believe the problem is the fill. Try using the RW texture. It worked no prob for me, though I built the solid from a rectangle with 2 filleted corners and then extruded. Will post image shortly.
  6. Ditto, as islandmon describes. For a little faster modeling with a little less precision, try only inner or outer profile and Shell Solid...
  7. You can trim one step (switching to finder) by activating the Input Menu in the Menu bar. System Prefs>International>Input Menu>click Show Input Menu. That way at least you stay in VW.
  8. Without knowing more, sounds like it might be a job for The Mighty Working Planes....
  9. As a continuation of this thread, I also run into an intermittent issue with wall component hatches only showing up in walls which run on one axis (sometimes X, sometimes Y) but not the other. Image attached. Any advice? [img:left]http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/322/wallgrab.png[/img]
  10. For (2) and (4), I must second Ray: invest some time with ALL the possible settings in selection preferences. It takes a while, and some trial-and-error, but eventually you may get to a happier place (meaning happier even than 2008). I did for me, after initial exasperation.
  11. Thanks for the validation--I don't feel quite so frustrated.
  12. Trying to track down this inconsistent behavior, and wonder if anyone else has been similarly stumped. Absolutely, positively NOT a class visibilty setting: e.g., I duplicate a section VP which displays correctly and the copy DOES NOT display correctly. All within one file, no WGR or DLVP to external files. Some SVP OK, some not, restart, different pattern. Only pattern I've noticed is (I think) symptom appears with larger files around 100MB or more. Perhaps file corruption...?
  13. The following solution doesn't work with the built-in VW Tape Measure--only with the enhanced Tape measure tool frm VectorBits: You can copy the data as you tab through the floating bar. Then, with a juiced clipboard (like PHPasetboard), you can paste the data as needed.
  14. Do you have the optional Renderworks module?
  15. FWIW, readily possible in Vectorworks interiorcad, including xs version. Otherwise, try searching Sketchup's 3D warehouse....might get lucky.
  16. Certainly seconded, so long as there remains an option to NOT automatically create a hybrid symbol (2D component).
  17. @Diamond- I only meant the hardware "set-up", not the drawing/working "set-up".... I work more like michaelk describes.
  18. I have a similar set-up and works as expected.
  19. Yes, but just be sure to have the Unrestricted Interactive Scaling Mode selected in the Mode Bar (two lines)
  20. Quitting VW definitely releases memory for me (also confirmed by Activity Monitor.) I am, however on an Intel Mac running VW natively. I think back-porting to PPC Mac might hog resources.
  21. I don't have any answers--just reporting that Molding file and RB function as expected for me.
  22. Right-o! The darn flippy triangle mysteries. Thought I tried that and it wiped out sub-rows--must have had something selected. Thank you both!
