Willofmaine, thank you! I was confounded by the "Use Part Line Styles" not working... It should be defualt set the pen attribute to none... The problem is that I have now have dozens of doors that need to adjusted to .50 but I can't select all of them and modify their Jamb setting... Is it possible to do it all at once?

I'm using .50 line weight for my walls, and when I insert a window w/ cap breaks, the .50 Cap line gets partially obscured by the window, making it closer to .36 How do I get a full .50 cap break?

We just upgraded from 12.5 and snapping has become painfully difficult. I don't know what has changed, but snapping, moving and the little tick marks are not an improvement. Can the little tick marks be turned off? 10.6.4 VW 2010 SP4

This is the equivalent of an architect designing a stair but omitting the handrails from the drawing. I dont' know how many Fundemental users there are, but I use it for 2D drafting. Last I checked, isn't that what architects do? I think the division between Fundamentals and Architect should be 2D / 3D BIM. It makes me wonder what other things I'm using at 50% capacity...

So this a purposeful crippling? What's next, trim/split that's also 75% functional?

We just upgraded to 2010 Fundementals... I cannot figure out how to get walls to track with eachother when they are being moved around. AutoJoin is checked in the preferences, any help would be appreciated.

I'm interested in buying a collection of designer / famous furniture symbols in 2d (things like Hans Wegner chairs, Eames plywood chair, Aalto table), etc. I googled several options without any good leads. Any suggestions?

Using v12.5 I'm working on a project that involves a house plan in the shape of a boomerang. Is there any method to shift the orthagonal grid a certain degree, so I can work on the left wing of the house as if it was oriented normally? Is it possible to setup a few of these grids to quickly switch back and forth? Thanks

I'm on a Nehalem MacPro with 8 gigs of RAM and an ATI 4870 512 card. This program is unquestionably slower than 12.5 / 2008. I don't know what magic some people are experiencing but what felt like a responsive dancer has become a couch potato ("But look at all the channels I have at my disposal!") I also tried it on XP Sp3 32 on 2.4ghz Quadcore and it's even slower. This program needs a ground-up remake of this so-called graphics engine. And the new snaps seem to get in the way more than they help. AutoCAD is now running speed circles around this program...

I've always used Vectorworks for 2d drafting but now I'm looking to purchase the program for professional work. Does Designer allow you to make 3d walls and doors and parasolid shapes that can then be sectioned into 2d drawings? Let's say I'm doing a house with a funky roof shape and I need to generate all the necessary drawings... Just curious if I need to get the Architect version of this program.

When I export to PDF I get a password lock when opening in Illustrator for touchup... Why? How do I get around this?

Every time I export to PDF for illustrator touch up I get a password request. ESPF unfortunately doesn't handle images well. Thanks for any help.

I have the student version of 2008, just upgraded to SP3. I can't seem to get snaps and projections to show up on my geometry, even though everything is turned on in the constraints palette. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to export an elevation to illustrator (because transparency options in VW take way too long). ESPF crashes, PDF asks me for a password. What gives? Vectorworks 2008 XP32

I installed SP1 and I'm still getting walls at 90.3 degrees or -179.1 Every time I adjust a wall it gets angled. How do I get rid of this program?

I really like the new program, opacity controls, etc. but I do have a few issues: - Slow. I have 4gb RAM Quadcore desktop with an 256 mb 8600GT video card. Common slowness occurs when trying to select a fill color. Rebooting the program fixes it, but the program doesn't feel snappy like v11 did. All I'm doing is 2d drafting. The zooming in isn't as smooth as I'd expect, considering the version and the hardware which I have. - Rotate a rectangle 90 degrees and Width and Height don't get flipped. Huh? Yeah, a 30' wide by 10' high box, rotated 90 via Ctrl-R, remains a 30' wide by 10' high box in the data palette, even though it now should be 10' wide, 30' high. Width should alway be width (X), and height should always be height (Y). V11 stuck to that - properly Cartesian. - Orthogonal walls snaps commonly get screwed up by .05 degrees or -.18. Draw a straight wall. Now grab an end and make it 45 degrees. Try getting back to a 0 degree wall and you'll get something like .05 degrees, even though the snap is reporting 0 degrees. It has to be adjusted numerically. - I have 2008 Student edition. Where is the SP1 update for students? I don't get it, why can't everyone use the same update? http://www.nemetschek.net/academic/index.php has no info, tech downloads offer no information on student upgrade.

Just got my student edition of 2008, registered+activated, and I can't upgrade my copy to SP1. Running the updater I get an error message that says "Updating E Series Installations is Not Currently Available." Why?

V11.5 on OS 10.3 I made a line 2d drawing with some images used for texturing polygons. Now I have to make an indesign document. EPSF looses the images, DWG just throws in a solid color, save as pdf from print is terrible. And I can't do image because I need to have scaling possibilities in the indesign document. What options are there? Why can't VW just have a PDF exporter?

Katie, I ran verify and repair...still no change, slow as hog. Anything else I can try? By the way, I just tried the images on a Quad Mac Pro with 2 gigs of RAM....brand new, out of the box. So it must be a v11.5.1 issue. Have there been other reports of these slow downs?

What does the HD have to do with? I understand if virtual memory is in use, but this machine had plenty of RAM.

I have no idea when Disk Utility was run... 10.3.9 1.5 gb of RAM The program becomes totally unusable with a 2000x2000 image loaded.
