  1. George- Tried that a couple of times around and it did not work in this instance. So it seems, at least for me, that it does not work. Thanks.
  2. In 12.5 if you change the attributes of the text to anything but "by class", then you can have multiple fonts in a custom titleblock. It does not work that way in 12.0.1.
  3. Has anyone had any success with the Import Sketchup command? Everytime we try to run it, nothing happens. Thanks.
  4. I should know how to do this, but I cant quite figure it out: how can you rotate the perspective view in a section viewport? Once in the viewport, I can use the flyover tool or walk-thru tool. The controls on the object info palette dont give this type of control. Any suggestions, or is this something that cant be done? Thanks.
  5. Lyndsey and Jim - Thanks for the input. Using a combination of both your ideas, I was able to get it to activate. For the record, I had to: 1. Turn on Mirroring - palette came up from where ever it was hiding 2. Set the resolution to a lower setting to resize the palette. The bottom was not visible on full resolution. Still not sure why this occur when switching to the new CPU, unless the video card is the culprit. The monitors did not change. Go figure... Thanks to all for the quick feedback and helping me resolve the issue.
  6. Gunther - It is not hiding behind the Object Info palette. I have closed all open palettes and drawing windows to search for it, but it is not to be found. Please give me an email, and I will send you the workspace to try it out. Thanks.
  7. Katie - It is in a minimally customized workspace. I can activate it in the standard workspaces, but it shows up in the far right upper corner of my second monitor in those cases. I have resaved the custom workspace, but that has not fixed the issue. I run 2 23" Apple Cinema Diplays with the new ATI Radeon X1900 XT video card. I have a feeling that it is appearing off screen, since the menu does flash with I use the keystroke.
  8. Has any one else not been able to activate the resource browser? I upgraded last week to 12.5, and now I can not get it to appear, using either the menu or the keystroke shortcut.
  9. OK - Custom config'd Pros are 3-5 weeks out, so hopefully everything co-incides nicely. Thanks.
  10. Now that the MacPro is out and people will be opening those boxes in the next week and booting up, when will the UB version of VW be available? Any ideas?
  11. Never mind - should look harder before I post things. If you need to find it, it is now (at least in the OSX) in User>Library>Application Support>Vectorworks>12, and no longer in the Application folder.
  12. In ver. 12, where is the time log created? I have the preference checked on, but there does not seem to be a file created in the VW 12 application folder like it used to be.
  13. Sorry, I posted this question and then promptly forgot about it as I moved onto other VW12 quirks. Michael, thanks for carrying the issue and Tom thanks for following it along. I will read thru everything and post any input that I might have. Thanks again.
  14. Here is an update to this issue: I have installed the 12.0.1 update on three different computers. On one, the Import Sketchup plug-in is there and accessible. On the other two it does not show up at all, although re-running the updater says that it is there. The one machine that it is working on is a dual 1 ghz g4, the others are a 1 ghz g4 and a iMag G5. Very strange. A bug perhaps?
  15. Thanks for the info. We were able to get it working on one machine, but not the others. The updater says that it is there, but it is not loaded in the plug-in folder. We will need to investigate a little closer. Thanks again.
  16. I am not sure if you are talking about the SketchUp app or the Import plugin for VW. I just installed the 12.0.1 update and the Import SketchUp is nowhere to be found..I also downloaded the earlier SKUP importer, and that tells me the info is already installed...Anyone else seen this? I cant find the plugin anywhere in the VW12 folder.
  17. Tom - Sorry for the delay - I will get a sample file to you in the next few days. I was able to work out most of the kinks, but I think there are still a few in there.
  18. have you tried using the setup assistant to set the master file up? if you do this, you can then use issue manager to edit the titleblocks in future files.
  19. You will need to edit the master titleblock file which is located in the Library Folder>Defaults>Drawing Borders and Titleblocks. Find the one that you use, edit the symbol and insert a jpeg of your logo into the symbol. from then on, when you use that titleblock, you logo will be in there automatically.
  20. I have not yet gotten into the notes part of VW12. On the surface, it looks a bit different.
  21. quote: Originally posted by carch: I have run into one problem. It seems that there is two boarders one boarder for the page size, i e 24x36 and the other is the one i want. How do I get rid of the 24x36 board. Also when printing, our page seems to come out alittle bigger showing this 24"x36" boarder. Maybe this is the problem. Chris You can also try setting the line weights for the drawing border object to 0. The title block lines will stay intact and the border will disappear. 22. I have been working my way thru this issue. The way VW now handles this stuff is not as simple as previous. I have had to take my custom titleblocks and relink the text to the new type records formats: like "P_Sheet Title ". Then they will work for the most part. What really needs to be fixed is that you can not have more than one type of title block in the drawing, even if it has the exact same record format attached to it. You will get that error message that you listed. I know there is more to this that I will need to say - but I have been working on it for 8 straight hour and I am a bit fried. I will add more as I come upon it. One other thing - VW11 titleblocks work fine with Issue Manager in 12, if it is in a converted file. Insert that same VW11 titleblock in a drawing and run Issue Manager, everything works fine. Then try to create a new file, using that exact same Titleblock that was originally created in VW11, as the basis for the sets and Issue Manager will not work with it. Confused? You bet! Tom- I emailed tech support today requesting a call about this issue from someone at NNA who is knowledgeable on the Issue Manager and Titleblock interface. Would you be the person I can talk with? If so, email me your contact info and I will give you a call. If not, let me know who I can talk to. Thanks. [ 01-19-2006, 06:38 PM: Message edited by: rcarch ]
  23. Has anyone been tinkering around with custom title blocks either with or without Issue Manager? I am trying to adapt my custom stuff, but it is considerably different than the previous versions. I would love to hear what anyone has been trying. Thanks.
  24. One way to do that in 11.5 is to actually have the section names as a note too. That way you can insert the section name and at least have a break. You will give up formatting control though. The other way to do it is to use the general note tool several times, once for each section, that works well and is how we do it in our firm. HTH and Good Luck!
  25. If you have set up all the sheets, what I would recommend is to add the 00_Arch_Sheets.mcd file to your object browser using the "Add New Favorites File..." command and then insert the title block like you would any symbol. The 00_Arch_Sheets.mcd file can be found at: VW App File>Plug-Ins>Common>Data>00_Arch_Sheets.mcd. The other way to do it is to use the Drawing Border too, but I dont think that will give you access to the ASME borders. HTH and Good Luck!
