tbennett -- in my brief experience using vw (just a little over a month) the numerous crashes that have happened on my machine have all been on files with no imported data and no text. the crashes have occured when using simple commands, duplicate, move, rotate, etc. so, for me there is no correlation between the crashes and imported data or text. anyone else crashing with no imported data? also, i've uninstalled vw11.5 and gone to 11.0.1 and problem of ballooning files and crashes persists. i don't know enough about vw to know for sure this problem is specific to the app., but i never had any problems pre-vw.

hello all -- i too have been having trouble with files becoming corrupted, failing to load and crashing vw. i have windowsxpsp2 with plenty of room on the hard drive according to vw's own install requirements. two days ago i lost a file completely in the manner seena describes above and had to completely redraw the thing only to have it happen again the morning on the same drawing version 2! it seems that the files grow slow while im working and then shut down altogether. looking at their properties may shed some light onto the issue as mine that have failed have unreasonably grown to an astronomical size (152MB!!!). keep in mind these are simple drawings, extrudes, no symbols or plugins, etc. there seems to be a failure in the program somewhere as saved and backup files have been corrupted in the same way. i am a new vw11.5 user and was sold on the product by looking at the website and talking to one colleague who had used vw in an earlier version. sadly, i didn't look at this forum before purchasing or i may have made a different choice. there is a lot of talk about problems like this elsewhere in the forum. from talking on the phone and emailing various people at NNA, this problem seems to be unsolved and varied in its cause. but for all the griping about the crashes and such, the individuals i have spoken with have been genuinely concerned, responsive and respectful of the predictament we're all in.

Yesterday I had VW 11.5 crash six times in four hours. I can now no longer access the file which i was working on, it is "corrupted". This is a small file, only about 10 hrs of work, thankfully; and yet it has grown to 152 MB! There seems to be no common thread on my Windows XP machine; the crashes are random and varied. I hope for a patch soon, so please contact Nemetshek with with your problem so they can figure out the cause. Also, I am a new VW user. Does anyone have any experience with this phenomenon on erlier versions of VW?

i hope this is a basic question. i've got vw 11.5 architect and i can't get any of the rendering capabilities besides sketch to work. this is a recent problem that started with only one item out of the drawing rendering in hidden line and now it doesn't work at all. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
