Katie or any VW gurus! I remembered way back in VW 10, there was a way to set it so that doors and windows when inserted, are in a designated class or class 'none', and not have their automatic classes "Sill", "Ceiling main" appear. Katie, I doubt it's the printheads, because i was plotting from 2 different stations with 2 different versions of vw in order to compare the quality of the plots.

I have recently switched from vw11 to vw 12.5 I'm on OS 10.4.7 since the switch, the print quality is noticeably worse. lines are not as crisp, heavy lineweights appear fuzzy, patterns are not as fine. i tried both quartz imaging on and off, that doesn't solve the print quality. I plot to hp designjet800ps. Any advice? Thanks.

Katie, The file has become progressively worse. Now "patterns" won't print and more lineweights aren't printing( with quartz off). However, everything prints fine when I cut and paste into a fresh new file ( even with quartz off). what's causing this "deterioration"?

Hi Katie, I have quartz imaging off. I have printed to both ricoh 1018 2027 laser The lines won't show up on pdf files either. The problem is corrected when i turn on quartz imaging. So i should have quartz imaging on at all times? I'm not quite sure what the function of "quartz imaging". Thanks!

I'm using VW12.5.1 on OS !0.4 On some of the files that I have been working on for a while, some lines of a specific lineweight will stop printing, while others are okay. Has anyone had this problem before? Any explanation as to why this happens and how to prevent it? The only solution I got if I need that lineweight, is to cut and paste into a brand new file.

I know I can import color palatte so that it is consistent between files, but how can I do the same for dash style and hatches? if i cut and paste, the dash style will just take on the style of the file that it is pasted on. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'M NEW TO CREATING DOOR SCHEDULE AND HAVE COUPLE QUESTIONS THAT I CAN'T FIND THE ANSWER TO IN THE MANUAL: 1. MY "MARK" IS NOT IN ASCENDING ORDER BUT IN RANDOM ORDER. HOW DO I EDIT IT? ( SO IT WILL SHOW FROM DOOR 1 THROUGH DOOR 10 FOR EXAMPLE) 2. HOW CAN I UPDATE MY SCHEDULE AFTER I MADE CHANGES TO THE DOOR WITHOUT "CREATE SCHEDULE" ALL OVER AGAIN? THANKS! My question is: When I have a group selected, I can't see its general (group) dimension in the obj info box. Have I switched something off? I tried group 2 rectangles together in a new file, and the obj info box has the group's size. I'm using VW 12.5 on MAC OS 10.4.7

V12.5 selection handles are blue. How can I change the color?

I have just upgraded from v11 to v12.5. All my doors which were on custom layer A-Door has extra classes attached ( sills and ceiling-main). Is there a way to not have these default classes show up when inserting doors? Or is there a better way to manage these default classes(I use AIA standard of naming these classes)?

I have had this happened on couple times with different files. The entire program would crash if I try to open an 'affected' file. I have tried rescuing some information from other files that referenced the said file but i lost all the annotation and layout. what can be the problem? both occasion they had been floor plans with site plan referenced into it.

archoncad, i don't have that button. all i have are "interactive scaling", "wall insertion", "rectangular selection" and "lasso selection".

When I was using VW10, I used to be able to move a wall without it being disconnected from the others it is joined with. Is this a feature only in VW architect? I'm using VW11 without Architect now, and can't seem to find the toggle to lock the wall joints. thanks.

katie, i got your info on the VW11 FAQ you posted on the technical support. "Do I need to set the scale in the design layer or should I always use 1:1 and scale the model in the viewport? While you can always change the scale of your model in the viewport, we still recommend that you set the scale of your design layer to the most likely printed scale. This will ensure that VectorWorks page based objects like text, dimensions, image fills, and some hatches will display correctly." 2. so the best way is still to reference titleblocks in design layers and viewport it onto the sheet layer?

I realized katie mentioned it's still better to draw in various scales in design layers and "viewported" at the same scale that correspond to the design layers. in that case i don't see the use of being able to change scales of the viewports, and isn't the purpose of annotation viewports so that scales can be change without affecting (drastically) text/dimension? 2.
