  1. Na, --polygone? -- It's one there allright, but just editable by the "edit roof settings" Can't find a way to edit the plan size of the roof itself. I created the roof (ordinary 2-slope)from a rectangle and this rectangle is still there. But editing this will not affect the roof. I can create a new roof from the edited rectangle but that's not good enough in a more complex roof situation. Now I'm just testing basic features. I want to be able to stretch the roof both left, right and in height. Not possible - right?
  2. How does one edit the plan size of a roof? Just by redrawing?
  3. Probably by joining three roofs. One at the top and two lower ones on each side. Maybe in two different layers. The lower ones beeing identical, but mirrored. Attached quick scetch
  4. Ok Finally I figured out that the fonts in the dwg are .shx and the ones I have are .ttf I still have to convert and that might be a problem. I don't know if .shx files are possible to use in a mac, but I hope to find out. The thin grey lines are due to my printer, a HP 4MV - a still perfectly printing, but old b/w laser printer. If I use a newer full color laser it's a lot better - almost good.
  5. Is there anyoune out there using ISOCP fonts on mac? I have some trouble and some questions. Font seems to change size after dwg import and only shows in grey when printed. Any ideas?
  6. Thanks Pat it all works now except for the text size. The one I insert in the record fields gets bigger (+3 pts) in VW than in the original dwg file. When exported back it looks weird. I can change the size if I edit the symbol, but that is not the way it should be. On top of this the text gets so thin it just prints as grey lines. It seems VW can't handle the font correctly, because if I change back to some other font it prints black again.
  7. By the way - here is where I found the fonts: http://www.fontstock.net/
  8. I've used it and it works perfectly! Most obliged!
  9. Isn't it "escape" on both mac and PC? At least on mac it aborts the rendering in 2008 and 2009. In 12.5 it did so occasionally.
  10. Pat, you'll soon be my god!
  11. I don't have my dongle right now, so I can't check it, but I believe that's exactly what I did. There was a list where all non available fots had suggested replacement, mainly Geneva. There were a few slightly different ISOPC fonts. I changed them to be replaced by ISOCP instead of Geneva. Did a new import in a new blank doc, but no change... But you wrote "delete that line" - I don't believe there was such an option. I'll have to check tomorrow - it's bed time over here.
  12. I'm importing dwg title blocks with attributes and the should show up with all fonts in ISOCP, but they are all Geneva when imported. I have ISOCP in my computer. Is there any setting I've missed? By changing to Geneva they seem to move as well, so manually changing them back to ISOCP is no option. Nered to get it right from start.
  13. Wow! ...easy? your pulling my gs! But it works - thanks! At least with the used classes. Hopefully I will find a way to list all unused ones as well. Now I need the awful ISOCP fonts for mac...any idea wher to find these?
  14. You are assuming right, you shouldn't need them any more. There is no referencing back to previous version libraries etc, but I would keep them anyway if you can spare 4,5 Gb on your HD. I still have as far back as VW11. I think it is wise to be able to open old files in their own versions - just as a precaution. There is always something that will not be translated correctly into newer versions. I remember major problems with windows at some time and some of my files are still bound to be opened in VW11 only. I'm on mac so I can't help you with how to uninstall them in PC. In mac you just waste the entire VW folder. You might need a drill and a saw...:-)
  15. I would say the base is identical. You will have to go into details to see the differences. No dramatic change anywhere. One of the main improvements in 2008 is the possibility to use viewports in design layers. Also there is a new pdf batch export - reliable too, but still needs improvement. The dwg batch export is not always reliable though. Rendering speed has improved too, both in 2008 and 2009. Other than that - can't remember any revolutionary features. Many possible bugs though with walls, windows and doors - the basic tools if architecture is your field. Training on 12.5 is a very good idea.
  16. Have you tried changing the paper size in the page setup back and forth. Just to see if the page border changes or is stuck.
  17. Thanks both, I used the screengrab, but had to make several prints to get the whole list. Would have been nice to be able to print it as complete list from top to bottom - or/and even better to be able to export it as an editable worksheet in Excel. As you say Maarten - it must have been done before. I'm not sure I want to plunge my head into the script bucket though...
  18. You'd probably save lots of time doing this upgrade now. Why do you hesitate? It takes no more than 10 minutes.
  19. Is there a way to print a list of all classes (used/unused) in a file?
  20. If you are new in the mac world, it might be good to know that you can set the use of extensions as a default setting for all files in your mac. Go to finder menu/ settings / advanced. It helps a lot when you exchange files of all kinds with PC users.
  21. Hi Pat Now I'm as upgraded I can be, except for the computer itself. VW 2009, 4.5Gb RAM and latest macOS10.5.4. In a blank document the space tool works fine, rotates as a merry-go-round. So basicly it seems to be ok. Maybe my problems arouse because I originally drew the plan in an upright position, then rotated it to fit the site map and as a third step rotated the working plane back to upright to be able to work on it. The space notations were already made before this. In a way it is logical, but rotating all design layers simultaneiously should not leave some text unrotated anyway....or maybe it should...I'm a bit confused right now by all this spinning around. Beeing upgraded and reinstalled, I quickly checked my window in wall problems and there's still no change there. As for the class assignment problems - no change either. Still just one door at a time... ...really, really frustrating!
  22. ...I also tried using the eyedropper tool with only pen style, fill style and class selected. Line color does not change.
  23. Man....I was really happy when I found an error: doors weren't by class. Quickly changed them all to "by class" in both pen and fill. Checked the class settings and looked fine. Selected three doors and moved them from one class "0" to the right one....but big dissapointment! - still no color change. Even worse! now the color won't change if I move one single door at a time, with or without "by class" settings.
  24. Quelle merveille M.CH!....keep on glimpsing!
  25. Right Jeffrey, That's how I meant to use it. The problem I had is that the text did not rotate when I rotated the working plane but when I rotated the plane back the text did rotate as well. The result of this was that the text in the non rotated plan view was rotated - and I had to find a way back from there. "Undo" action did not help. On the other hand, what's the reason all text rotates, except for the space tool text? Then again, it seems to rotate randomly. Randomly also seems to be the key word in my version of 2009. Whatever I do these days ends up with some trouble....
