  1. Mike Moore's post covered this for me. See above. Re the fill; you set that in Classes, under Section Style. You can select Section line thickness and fill colour there. I am also on VW arch. 2018.

You should be able to add or delete points to a dimension string by clicking on the appropriate point ? Making dimension style changes should be simpler I agree! Regarding Metric vs Imperial dimensioning; I have used metric for many years, but Imperial has the great advantage of being modulor. 12 divides many ways ( 2, 3, 4, 6, 8) while 10 divides by 5 & 2. Metrication is not a panacea. Maybe associative dimensioning will be? C'mon NNA !!

  4. Whilst there are some very good workplace templates, I stil find myself trying to develop the complete template, including the template of Classes (inc textures etc), Sheets and Views, to allow me to do a set of Working drawings in colour, and to include 3D views that are linked. I know that this is all in the package, but it still seems to me to fall on the architect to develop most of the effective bits. I reckon there needs to be more 'cross practice' common ground on thois. For example, we have worked on developing standard hatches for appropraite classes, going back to the classic office practice prior to CAD; (eg red diagonal pairs of lines signifying brickwork in plan or section, diagonal cross-hairs signifying undressed timber, etc). This might sound old-fashioned, but re-inventing the wheel like this will help communication, if we all adopt it.
  5. I note that this works really well in ArchiCad, and needs to be as good in VW.
