  1. Is there a way to reposition wall textures? I have two walls butting up to one another and the textures don't line up. Most 3d programs have a way to manually or numericaly move the texture origin for ant given object, where is it in vectorworks?
  2. Yea, I am experiencing the same thing. The keynotes will randomly expand to about 15 times their size - also the key note callouts will expand but then resize themselves, leaving a text box that stretches all across the screen. I can't find a reason for it.
  3. There is a fan symbol in HVAC_Equipment in the resource browser, see if it will work for you.
  4. Absolutely, the comment on NNA offering 80% is dead on. I realize that Vectorworks costs much less than other BIM type cad packages but it would be nice to be able to choose Vectorworks for it's superior functionality as well as its price. Right now it seems like vectorworks is focused more on the design/build or contractor market. It's easy to make a tract home with it but when you actually start designing, the holes begin to appear. They claim that it's software designed by Architects, perhaps it is a case of needing to find some Architects who can consult on what a 3d building modeling package really needs to do to be able to be used by the 20% who are really pushing the design side and not the production housing side. If Vectorworks could achive that, they would be ahead of even their much more expensive rivals.
  5. I submitted it, thanks, Matt
  6. I have section markers associated with section viewports drawn on a design layer at 1/4" scale. If I then make a viewport of the plan at 1/8" scale the marker size will not scale. The advanced viewport properties do not effect this. Is there a way to sccale the marker for different viewport scales? Thanks
  7. That is not a good option if you are trying to produce schematic elevations - Is there a fix planned for this Robert? Thanks
  8. Window walls in hidden line view or wireframe show the vertical mullions projecting into the upper and lower frame about an inch. What is this? I can see no setting to control it and you see it in hidden line so it messes up elevations. Any ideas? Thanks
  9. Please, please, please add this functionality. I know of the OZ cad plugin but it is lacking in user friendlyness. Please, I wish for it every project we do.
  10. Is there a way to see the rest of the drawing when editing a pad or fence modifier? I have "show other objects while in groups" on, is there another settting that controls this. Also, the user's guide says that you can turn a polyline into a site modifier but the only one available in the menu is a road - ?
  11. I think the point here is that much of the 3d functionality of Vectorworks is lost because of it's horribly slow open GL rendering and horribly unintuitive 3d navigation while in perspective. You should be able to spin the model around in a perspective view with the flyover tool and the rendering should be practically instant as it is with sketchup. If this was the case, I would have to rely on sketchup less as a presentation and design feedback tool and spend more energy in vectorworks making a tight building model. For me this is Vectorwork's biggest drawback - the 3d viewing is just so weak.
  12. Has anyone else experienced very, very slow zooming and panning w/ large, multi panel doors. I have an aircraft hanger w/ a 20'x65' door with about 40 panels. If I have this displayed as a hidden line elevation in a viewport, it becomes almost impossible to move around the drawing or annotate the viewport. If I change the leaf to a solid panel, it fixes the problem. Any way to fix this or is it a bug? Thanks OSx-12.1-G5
  13. Thanks alot, that works - my problem now is that the section markers are not scaling with the viewport - I changed the line, arrow, text, etc. scales and nothing had any efffect on the scale of the section markers. Any help for that? Thanks again.
  14. I have several section viewport markers on my design layers, they look fine on the design layers but will not display on my plan viewports. I've tried turning on all of the classes and nothing I can figure out will make them display on my plan vieports. Please help if you have an idea as I have to print this set tonight! Thanks
  15. I turned on the ceiling-main class which worked - except on doors the lines stop at the inside edge of the jamb, not at the wall! Also I usually can't use the Custom sash option because it does not allow parts of the window to be at different heights! the window has to be contained within a rectangle! The whole promise of the building model and live sections doesn't mean anythhing if none of it works right or is customizable enough. Please consider this in furture releases and let me know if there is a fix for the wall lines as well as section viewport lineweights mentioned in my other post. Thank you, Matt
  16. I have set the objects beyond lineweight to a class and it appears that it is drawing two lines - the original and the class line style on top of it. When it prints, it prints the original line weight which is much too heavy! Help! 12.1 new release on a mac osx 10.4
  17. Also, my windows always show caps on the wall break-even if I say full break w/ out caps. Thus if I have two windows butted up to one another, I have a line the width of the wall where they meet. I'm using latest 12.1 on os 10.4 mac
  18. My windows and door will not draw wall lines, I've messsed with classes and part line weights and nothing seems to be working. Any ideas anyone? Thanks
  19. thanks G McBeath, that was exactly what I was looking for!
  20. It does not seem that there is a way to move multiple windows at once or even select multiple windows to perform any other operation to them. I have resorted to moving the whole wall at times then rejoining the corners - does anyone know of a better way to do this?
  21. I answered it myself, except the changing class part-thanks though - Matt
  22. I am unable to asign a image texture to a wall after It has been created. I first added the texture to the wall type and it did not update the existing walls, though if I draw a new wall with that type the texture shows up. Then i tried assigning the texture to the wall's class, which did not work either. At the same time this was happening, the wall was refusing to change class. If I changed the class, the next time I selected it it would be reverted back to it's original class. I tried everything I could think of but it seems like a bug to me. Anyone had any similar problems or a solution? Thanks, Matt
  23. Thanks, I'm not sure what I was doing wrong but after watching the tutorial, I got it to work fine.
  24. Hi Robert, I am drawing a very simple airplane hanger building, it is a rectangle with a large radius curved roof with the curve pitching from north to south. The east and west walls will thus be trimmed to match the radius while the north and south walls will trim to match the heights (i could adjust these two to approximate the heights if need be). The fit walls to roof command won't work because it's not a roof and the model-solids commands cut a slot in the walls but don't trim them into two pieces. Does this help? Thanks, Matt
