  1. I have two references in a file, one for some elevations, one for a floor plan. Never had a problem. This has all been working fine for the past month. I superseded a model and by supersede I mean I copied and pasted my model to a superseded folder on my PC and carried on working on the original model. All was working absolutely fine for a week. I opened the file today and the viewports I have are no longer showing the information in the references. The references are still here, they are not broken, the source location has not been changed whatsoever. One of the the references is still visible on the layer its in, but it just won't show up on the viewport. The other reference is again still on the file, not broken, but it's not showing anything. I haven't changed the source models at all. I opened the SS model, i.e. just a copy of my main work model that has a few less changes, and the references do still work on here. I've tried turning on all classes layer etc, tried reloading the reference, tried moving the source location of the reference on my pc and updating, all the usual stuff, but I cannot for the life of me get anything to reappear in the viewports. Anyone have any ideas? It will take me a lot of time and increase model size to import the information from the source models.
  2. Update: Frustratingly, I have opened the model today and the glass I fixed yesterday has once again disapeared 🤷‍♀️ I've repeated the steps I took yesterday and I can't get it to match again. Edit: Nevermind, the class was hidden 😅
  3. Thanks I have tried both of these things earlier and it didn't work for some reason. I just tried closing and opening my file and trying again and it's working now. Strange. Thanks for the help
  4. Struggling to work this one out. I have created a curtain wall and added two doors by selecting each panel and right clicking "add door". I've converted to unstyled, then in the settings for that door I've changed the leaf to glazed. This gave me a glazed door exactly as I need, but I want to change the glazing in the panel to match rest of the glazing I have picked for the curtain wall. How do I change this? Thanks
  5. I have imported a DWG and very quickly created extrusions for the existing walls by using inner boudnary mode on the 2d poly tool. Can I change these extrusions to unstyled walls? Instead of the extrusions, I could draw around each existing wall with the wall tool and set the wall thickness for each wall, but if I could just change the extrusions to unstyled walls instead, this would save a huge amount of time for me. Even if it's just one extrusion at a time. Is this possible? I can't find the option anywhere... I can select a 2d shape and go to AEC-Create Objects From Shapes, and create walls like this, but they just surround the object. So a rectangle will create 4 walls. This makes sense but as I say I need the just the overall inside as 1 wall. Thanks.
  6. I'm getting to grips with the railing/fence tool and have used the settings to edit it visually. Under settings - 3D attributes - Panel, I've added a material ("Siding Vinyl Beaded Seam Tan 6in MT") which when used on a wall, this material is horizontal, however on my fence panels it's showing vertically. Same thing happens with any other texture. Is there anyway I can rotate this? Without directly editing the material, as I have used this elsewhere in my project. The second image attached, with the blue panels, same problem but wierdly the end panel has the correct orientation.
  7. Thanks so much for the help. Just tried the wall framer tool as I'd never heard of that, fantastic tool and worked really well.
  8. Yep, that's sorted it instantly, thank you! Just out of interest, what does core actually mean in this context? When you set a component as the core, are you specifying it as the center of the wall?
  9. Fairly new to Vectorworks, set myself the task of creating a basic house to get used to the software. I have created some new walls styles and I need the exterior layer of the walls to wrap around the openings for doors and windows. In "wall closure as inserts" in both the oip and edit wall style, all of the options are locked. I tried using a wall type that is already in VW, and I can change the options here, but all the wall types I've created are locked. I cannot work out how to unlock these options.
