Reinstalled 12.0.0 is accesssing some of the new features (and problems, mainly Section Viewports not being able to render in Renderworks anymore, just hidden line). http://techboard.nemetschek.net/cgi/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=16&t=001902 [ 02-17-2006, 11:08 AM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]

I'll try to do a setup with both 12.0.0 and 12.0.1 running side by side. Actually I first notice something strange when I could not find the Section Line Instance and now I realize that I cannot attach one either. Now what? 3. Compusam and BandA: I would suggest that you delete all doors and windows and use v12 built-in ones. I was surprised and disappointed to see that 12.0.1 solves inconsequential problems that no one was complaining about. And, at least for me, it brought home new problems.
  4. PROCEEDING TO REINSTALL 12.0.0 No more beta testing for me... [ 02-16-2006, 03:22 PM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]
  5. "The drawing was created years ago, so I had to redraw these doors just to be able to get them on the schedule sheet in the first place, and there is no problem with the id tags on any of the doors or windows in exterior walls." I also had some issues with door and window tags on a drawing converted from v11.5 to v12, although not the same as yours. I would suggest (on a copy of the drawing) you delete all the "old" doors and windows and use v12 doors and windows. BTW, what a nice round member number: 7000 !!!! NNA should give you free lifetime upgrades... or a car or something. [ 02-15-2006, 11:57 PM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]

I would like to be able to assign an attribute to my doors of "A", "B", etc. and then have it show up on the door schedule. That's too my preferred style of working with doors and windows. bclydeb's tip is very useful. But now I wonder if there is a short easy way of showing them in elevation, the actual live thing that is.
  8. (Posted this elsewhere but it seems too important. I can't find in the Help file absolutely anything about this and if SVPs are such a great idea, and I am starting to rely heavily on them, there must be a workaround!!!) I try to export a section viewport (SVP) to DWG but my ACAD receipient sees nothing but the SVP annotations. You say SVP will not export? This woulb be a terrible handicap for architects trying to send their consultants, esp structural, sections of their designs. Is there a way around this? Can the SVP be converted in any way? 9. John, I try to export a section viewport (SVP) to DWG but my ACAD receipient sees nothing but the SVP annotations. You say SVP will not export? 10. I am very grateful to John Williams, Core Technologies, NNA, for having contacted me and expaining that SVPs do translate via DWG. Although I have not figured out my particular problem, it's a relief to know it can be done. The VW12 Help file has an entry on the subjet at "DXF/DWG File Export" but this particular issue is not addressed. [ 02-10-2006, 08:56 AM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]

I have a question for NNA. Does "support for Apple? Intel? Macintosh? computers" mean native or in Rosetta mode? If I understood correctly the Rosetta emulation performance in iMac core-duo was significantly slower than even an older iMac G5 1.8 mhz. [ 02-10-2006, 10:14 PM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]
  12. Nina, thanks for the prompt reply. VW 12.0 is able to open the translated DWG v2000- 2002 but the issue occurs when I open the DWG with the PowerCADD 6 translator (since I don't use ACAD). PC6 may be at fault here, but I'll send you the DWG for your inspection and please do open it in ACAD proper.
  13. In VW 12.0 I am seeing that door and window PIOs are not exporting at their proper rotation (as shown in the drawing) but at some default setting. Can this be confirmed? [ 01-26-2006, 10:19 AM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]
  14. It's too bad since I believe we lost this from v11.5.
  15. I was told by NNA that this was a "minor" bug that would be addressed in the upcoming release. Good.
  16. quote: Originally posted by Nina Ivanova: You have to convert rendered viewports to groups. Then you could export to DWG. Nina Ivanova Software Development Nemetschek Thanks for the reply. But, that means I loose the viewport or I have to duplicate it, move the copy out of the Sheet and then convert to group. It would be nicer if the computer did that for you...
  17. Also, Drawing Borders in VW 12.0 converted from v11.5 do not "translate". My receipients get a generic border with "Title Line 1", Title Line 2", etc. I'm not sure I want to start with changing all existing borders now. But, for the next project, do VW 12.0 translate OK?
  18. I used to be able to export to .dwg rendered viewports as jpegs or similar in VW 11.5. Is that no longer possible in VW 12.0 or did I miss some setting?
  19. Some of my Section Viewports have lost their link to the section markers. The link is actually there and Section Line Instance will find the marker, but updating is not a vailable or will not work unless I go to the section marker and move it slightly in any direction. It's quite a hassle to say the least to go thru this for several dozen Section VPs, a great feature I now can't do without.

  21. I believe one of the demos includes the transluscent wall you want. I think they call it "plastic". http://www.nemetschek.net/upgrade/demos.php [ 01-20-2006, 09:04 AM: Message edited by: Ramon PG ]
  22. I' not an expert and I don't play one on TV, but, It sounds like a system thing. I would quit and then do a Permissions Repair with the Disk Utility. Consider reinstalling VW if the quirk does not go away.

  24. John, Why not contact an architectural student. Get recommendations from the professors. You'll probably get the design for free or almost free.
