  1. VW still has not corrected the problem of worksheets with databases in that if you want to include areas of polygons, you must enter the field "=area/144" to get a square feet reading. What's up with that? ------------------ Jim McAuliffe, RA
  2. n the 8.5.2 version of VW, worksheets that are placed on the drawings appear without grid lines, even though the worksheet preferences are set to view grids. The only way I have found to see the grids is to manually enter border lines to the particular cells. Was this done on purpose, or am I missing a settings? ------------------ Jim McAuliffe, RA
  3. You can't scale symbols- they are sized reletive to the scale of the layer they on on/and where created. Try Symbol to Group it then scale it. ------------------ Jim McAuliffe, RA
  4. Depending on your printer/plotter I think you can click on something called "job logging" in the print dialog box. It's under the heading Job Logging on my mac setup for the laserwriter. Haven't used it before, but it will create a printing log folder on your hard drive... ------------------ Jim McAuliffe, RA
  5. Check out the categories in VA setup Assistance. You have to open a new document using VA setup Assistance, then go to the File pull-down menu and go to VA Project Setup. I think there are two catagories for renovations: residential remodel and tenent interior. Hope this helps. ------------------ Jim McAuliffe, RA

  7. Class and layer windows, as far as I know, are command windows. Command windows are only open prior to entering a command. I don't know why you would want them open all the time- it seems like there would be too much happening on your screen...
  8. You can either class to items prior to grouping them, or once grouped, put the whole group in a class.
  9. I have discovered that VA doors in plans that are referenced will appear as gigantic extrudes in the fuile you are referencing to. To fix it, turn off the 3d Jamb button for each door in the referenced plan.

  11. I have noticed that some VA doors and windows, when in a plan that is being refernced as a Workgroup, appear with extruded jambs. It looks like each door/window has a line on each side of the jamb the same height as the door/window. In the reference plan they appear correct. I have turned off all the 3D features. Any suggestions? ------------------ Jim McAuliffe, RA
