  1. More info: the plan with the patterns is a referenced file coming in as a viewport on the design layer. Therefore, the classes for those walls are not accessible through the class settings on sheet layer viewport. Puzzling....
  2. Its the arrow tool. You might check out the 2D Selection Tool page in the VW help site- its good.
  3. Welcome to VW! Stretch works in VW by highlighting the items, and push/pull using the 2D selection tool. I group several items sometimes- its good for equal spacing between fixed points. Trim can be done using the trim tool in the basic toll palette. I also draw a line over the item to be trimmed and do a command-T. Same goes for extend, its in the basic tool palette. The tutorial are good for this basic stuff. Hope this helps.
  4. I am using VW 2008 with a file started under VW 12. I have a sheet layer that has a viewport referencing a design layer with a viewport. Some of the walls on the design viewport have patterns that I don't want to see on the sheet layer. I have editted the class settings in the viewport and the patterns are now gone. But when I then go to my sheet layer, the patterns remain visible. What am I doing wrong? Any tips would be apprecaited...
  5. It would be nice to bring back the 'no arrow' button in the OIP for callouts. Now we have to make a custom arrow with 0 constraints. Thanks.
  6. Thanks. I will add my woe to the wish list...
  7. Hi- I recall the days when the arrow of a callout object could be removed with the check of a button in the OIP. Can anyone tell me how to do this in VW 2008? Thanks.
  8. Sorry, was thinking of something else. You should uncheck all of the buttons under '2D Fills and Files' and '3D'. That way your consultant will get only lines, which I know they like. Hope that helps...
  9. It is on the setting dialog box when you go to file/export DWG...
  10. You should let the DWG export command do that for you. Just hit the 2D only button...
  11. Please bring back the feature that allowed the titleblock's filename to auto-populate with the file's name. It was part of issue manager, I believe. Thanks.
  12. Yes, that is what I was getting at. Short of creating a script, I guess I need to add this to the wish list..... Anyone else?
  13. Hello, Is there a way in 2008 to have the files name automatically appear on the title block when printing drawings? It isn't quite clear in VW help. Thanks.
  14. I think I will add this to the bug list...
  15. We still cannot understand why this is happening- it has occurred again in the same file and the photos cannot be seen, but white boxes are in their place. It does not make sense why this would work better on design layers. Anyone have any other suggestions...
  16. Ok, maybe that was the problem as they are placed directly on the sheet layer. We are having no problems with the resolution and have not altered the size of the photos. We will give that a try.
  17. Strange, I had to deleted the photos, deleted the references, and re-import them to get them to be able to be seen....
  18. I have a target file that is referencing 4 photos. They are placed on a sheet layer and have been plotted successfully before. I have opened the file today and the photos are not visible, but are still shown as updated in the nav. palette. Is there a trick to updating them so that they are visible? They are indicated as referenced bitmaps in the OIP. Its a great tool, but are we missing something?
  19. what i have done is uncheck the symbol geometry button in the door settings, and that take care of the gaps. i am still unable to rotate the label, though. the keep id horizontal does not do anything for doors in the file with labels already. could it be because this file was started in 12.5....
  20. i am trying to rotate my door id labels now that they are placed in the drawing. they are all horizontal format, but with some doors they are creating gap in the walls as they are wider than the door they are associated with. if i can rotate them 90?- so they are vertical- they will fit within the door width. i don't want to reduce the font size any more. when i uncheck the 'keep id horizontal' button on the OIP, nothing happens. any suggestions....

  22. thanks jim! that was a great help...
  23. i figured it out- you need to change the attributes in the referenced file(s) to a setting you want. the design layer viewport will not override in the target file...
