  1. You should also review the Multi-user section of the tech board that we started some months ago. This is an ongoing issue with us that we are sorting through project by project. I am going to speak to the NNA folks at the AIA convention next week and some of the things we have found so far...
  2. Hello, I note that standard schedules will included objects on a design layer viewport, and I don;t know why. For example, we have a file that has a standard door and window schedule in it. The doors/windows I have flagged as being on schedule are on layers that are referenced to another (model) layer via a viewport. The schedules are showing those objects as duplicates and we filter them through the schedule selection criteria (items that are not on that viweport layer). That works, but its odd...
  3. Well, Thanks to Ray, it appears that the PDF is the problem. At least in one of our title block symbols. Our cover sheet TBLK was troublesome, but now works because we changed the PDF logo to a drawn polygon. Our other standard sheet TBLK has a smaller PDF in it, but does not give us any issues. There must be some glitch with PDF's of a certain size... ?
  4. Ray, Send me your e-mail address and I will send you the file. Thanks
  5. Posting images here used to be easier, as I recall. Now my understanding is that images need to have links. It is a burden for quick information transfer ,I think.
  6. I wish there was an easy way to publish small images or screen shots here...
  7. Additonal info: We use two TLBK's for our drawings- one for the cover and another for all other sheets. Both have a PDF of our logo (B&W), but the cover has a larger one, physical size wise.
  8. We are up to date with SP3, and I have tried the Tools menu for titleblocks.
  9. Hi- We are using VW 2008 and have a custom titleblosk symbol that we use on our cover sheets. Since we have upgraded to 2008, these symbol have a weird corruption on that objects appear at the insertion point on the sheet layer. The IP is the lower right corner and we either see our logo PDF, or a section of insulation object (one has that plus several drawing object clumped together). These items are not visible when we edit the symbol. We have recreated the cover TBLK, but there are still these items appearing. Any suggestions?
  10. Thanks JJ. It does sound complicated and it really should not be for placing PDF's in VW...
  11. Is it possible to set a stair object to read in 2D only? There used to be a chack box for this. I am having trouble with multiple stairs on the same layer working properly with the upper/lower flow levels. Thanks
  12. That does not make sense, I think, as we can open PDF's with Preview...
  13. None that I know of. You can try to use the cabinet library objects and modifiy them for 3D needs...
  14. We have been dealing with this issue for years here on the east coast. ANSI compliant standard cabinets, we have found, are not quite there yet. This is due to the conflict between under counter appliance and counter heights; reach range for controls and front approach work areas. The kitchen requirements under 2003 ANSI are especially specific and rigorous. The closet we have found come from Kraftmade, but there are modifications that end up happening. This is especially true for commercial installations (ANSI compliance kicks in only for multiple dwellings in residential installations). Cabinet manufacturers, especially those at Lowes, Home Depot and the like, look at you like you are from Mars when you start talking about ANSI. They are just not up to speed with the concept.
  15. The issue we are having is that the Import PDF... command is not working, as described above, on one of our stations only. It is a iMac, system 10.5, with a slightly modified 'Architect' workspace. This station has the same plugins as the other machines in the office, and it does not have any Acrobat software on it. It does, however have 2 accounts, and we are going to look into seeing if this is causing any conflicts. I did try to add the command in the workspace editor last night, as described above, but that does not accomplish anything. The Import Image File... does work. I even took my working plugins and put them on the unworking station, to no avail. The plugins we have are 'Export PDF (Batch)'; PDFPage'and 'PDFUtilityLib'. Very odd behavior...
  16. The station that has the problem does not have any Acrobat software on it. In fact, my station does and I have no problem with Import PDF. We might look at the system/permissions and see if there is an issue there. Or with the other account on this machine...
  17. Hi, We are having a problem with the 'Import PDF...' command on one machine in our office. We get an error message saying the the plugin is missing. The plugins we have are 'Export PDF (Batch)'; PDFPage'and 'PDFUtilityLib'. The other machines do not have this issue, and the machince with the problem has these plugins. I have reinstalled VW twice and it still occurs. We have also copied those plungins from working machines to the iMac, but still it does not work. The 'Import Image File' has no problems. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks.
  18. Thanks, I will give it a try. I am hoping this will be standard with 2009. Is there any documentation for the download in english, by the way?
  19. Hello, We would like to be able to have the VW file name be automatically updated on our title blocks in VW 2008. We end up doing it manually, if we remember. This feature, I believe, used to be standard, but is now not. Anyone have any tips as to how we can do this? Thanks
  20. Thank you both- its nice to know how to do this.
  21. Hello- Can anyone tell me if it is possible to print out the workspace list for review? We want to consolidate our office workspace and to have a printout of it would be useful. Thanks
  22. does this address automatic file name update on titleblocks for VW 2008?
  23. While I do not want to import more, foreign, classes into my target file, your suggestion did the trick. I never paid attention to those other columns in the classes navigation box. Thanks!
