  1. This is something Id also like to see. Meanwhile try this: (I have been getting consistent exports from VW 9.5 to Cinema 4d 7.3 with this options...) Place your view in Top-PlanExport to dxf. Format: DXF (text)Version: 12 And in 3d Conversion, choose both: Triangulate to Preserve Fills and Decompose 3D Objects Hope this helps.
  2. The latest version of the wacom driver I know is 4.7.1, did u get that version? My graphire works great with it and VW 9.5 and OSX..
  3. Is there a trusted way to translate models made with VectorWorks 9.x to CInema 4Dxl 7? Ive been trying with .dxf and vrml formats with uneven results, sometimes it works, but many times I get parts of the geometry dislocated. Ive also been told tha VW and Cinema 4dxf (Maxon) are somehow related, is this true?...If truth, this could mean that a plugin to export c4d files is not an extravagant request... (maybe?... or am I dreaming?...) Thanks

And after reading that Apple is planning to remove the Type and Creator identification system from OS X and also about quitting the Data/Resource structure in favour of a data only structure. I was curious about the vectorworks file extension name Where did I read that? http://www.macfixit.com/macosx.shtml Theres a big discussion there about Type/Creator vs. File Name Extensions on OSX [This message has been edited by Gregor Samsa (edited 09-30-2001).]
  5. I am an old time mac user, never worried about this kind of things, now with OSX... Wich is the correct extension for vectorworks files? .mcd? or is that one just for minicad files? Confused Samsa.
  6. ajs said: >And as always RAM, RAM, RAM, and do not buy it from Apple. : ) HTH I am also about to buy a new Mac, any reason why not to buy from apple... GS
  7. Does it work? I am using VectorWorks 8.5.2 on a Mac with OS 9.0.4, but Im thinking about installing OSX... Will I need VectorWorks 9? or 8.5.2 is OK to run it on the classic layer of OS X? any plans for a carbonized version? samsa07
  8. Never mind.. I just read the thread below... 7
  9. I have been able to import dwg files into VectorWork 8.5.2 succesfully, but only i they come from versions 14 or 13 of Autocad but not with AutoCad 2000 dwg?s.. Is there something I sholud do different? or the import plugin doesnt work whit that kind of files? Gregor Samsa
  10. Seems like a great notice that VectorWorks and Cinema4d are now like brother and sister.. Can we expect some kind of plugin to export Vector Works files to Cinema 4D soon? I use both applications and using dxf files to move between the 2 programs is not very trusty. When opening a dxf file produced by VectorWorks in Cinema 4d, some objects move their position... thanks samsa 07
  11. Here again.. Is there a chance to have an always open palette (like the floating windows of Claris Cad) with the classes and the layers information and so, be able to change the options of each one without having to open the menu? [This message has been edited by samsa07 (edited 08-06-2000).]
  12. Hi here again... This transition from claris cad its costing me a little more effort than i expected.. ;-) This is the question.. I already learned to move objects with the nudge tool .. and the arrows, but is there a way to make those moves to match the selected grid?, I mean: if I have a 1mt grid.. then one movement of the arrow moves the object 1mt [This message has been edited by samsa07 (edited 08-06-2000).]
  13. I have found a "Duplicate along path" in the in the Editing tool palette, and its pretty useful onebut that has nothing to with the "distribute" i am talking about. I want to distibute several and different objects not duplicate them...
  14. Im new in the use of Vector Works 8.5 (mac) I come from ClarisCad which has a tool for allign several objects + distribute them... Ive found somethin about the allign tool on Vector Works but cant find anything like "distribute".. any ideas??
