  1. I am not at my desk so I don't know off the top of my head what the MFG was/is and was really trying to specify what the locals are using. After speaking to some of the local builders, I decided to just just use generic sizes and let the builder choose what MFG they want as prices and availability can vary significantly from design to construction. Thank you for the feedback though.
  2. In my Resource Manager I have 8 Window Manufacturer Catalogs and 8 Door Manufacturer Catalogs (same MFGs); are there more catalogs available or in the pipeline to be added to the Libraries. I contacted one of the local suppliers and asked what MFG they most sold and this Company is not one of the available catalogs. I was told that it was easy for VW to import new catalogs from manufacturers and tried to connect the MFG to VW but nothing ever happened. Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge regarding this topic?
  3. Thank you - Piece of Cake (lol). I will give it a try.
  4. Where can I find a rollup garage door in VW. I see overhead but I can't find a roll up. I am modeling a 10' wide x 12' high rollup door for a barn. I have created a overhead that works but would like to be more accurate with an actual roll up door. Anyone out there have any ideas?
  5. How do i create another site model for proposed. I used the stake tool and set all of the elevations from the elevation survey and created a site model. I created another design layer for the proposed site and set all of my stakes to the grades that I want but the create site model tool is not available. Can anyone tell me how to get the existing and proposed site model?
  6. I am creating a site plan. The current site fluctuates from 13' to 15', so it is relatively flat. I was able to use the stake tool to draw the current contours. Now I want to draw the proposed contours. Basically I want to grade the site flat at 14'. I created a slab for the building footprint at 14'8" elevation(not actually drawing the building so just using a slab) and a slab for the parking at 14' 4" elevation and a sloping driveway from 14'4" to the road at 12.5'. I want to create a contour line at 14' elevation that goes around the building and parking and then goes around the property boundary. My retention swales are within this contour. my retention swale will have sides at 13.5 feet with a 2/1 sloped sides. The main swale will be 1' deep with the bottom at 12.5' and there is a tributory swale that is only 6" deep that will collect water from the impervious areas and direct the water to the main swale. The tributory swale will have the sides at 13.5' and the bottom at 13.25'. As I said it is pretty much a flat site. Can someone tell me how to make the contour lines i need at these 4 elevations. Do I make them with the polyline or polygon tool and then how do i convert them to a contour line. I have watched a number of videos but they all start after the contour lines have been generated and they show how to edit but I am not sure where to start to just get the lines.
  7. I created my contours but I can't see my original survey under the contours. I would like the contours to show over the Survey with the elevation stakes showing as well. I have tried different visability settings but can't seem to get it to show the way I want. Does anybody have and suggestions?
  8. I am working on a simple house addition and in my drawing package (sheet layers) in want most of my elevations and details to be 2D line drawings like a traditional set of 2D generated plans. Usually, I want one rendered 3D view of the proposed house on the cover sheet. Can I make all my viewports from the model and change my visibilities to make the views that I need to look 2D (Flat with no perspective) and without the windows and door glass clear? Sort of a long question but I could use some guidance.
  9. I set my stakes and created a contour of my site. It is relatively flat site (10.5' - 13.0'). When I created the contour from AEC/terrain/Site Model From Source Data I had a couple of weird results and apparently one or two of the stakes were input without the ' (Ft) marker and defaulted to inches. Now I cannot find the Stakes to verify which one or two might be the wrong elevation. Are the stakes available after contour has been generated?
  10. I am editing a previous project. This is a house plan and I am creating a duplicate of this plan for another address. I am trying to edit the text in the title block and I am getting an error message "This text object cannot be edited because it is linked to field "Project title" of record in Title Block tn. Can anyone tell me how to get to this to edit it.
