  1. Sorry if this has been covered, I could not find it anywhere. One of the changes in Wall Styles is all your favorite files from the Resource Browser show up in the Wall Styles Menu, so it is packed with symbol files that have no relevance to walls. Is there a way to not see those in the Wall Styles list?
  2. On the Sash Tab of the Settings window you will find a Sash Offset. That is where you can type in the value, positive or negative, to move the sash within the jamb. It is also in Object Info if you scroll down far enough.
  3. I have found that if you have a solid fill as the default in the Attributes Palette the object will come in solid. If you do not have a fill it will come in as just edges, but as you mention you can then click into the object and apply a solid fill to the mesh. I do have to say the improvements in Sketchup import in 2015 are absolutely great. The ability to easily use the vast resources of the 3D Warehouse is immensely valuable.
  4. You can change it in the first tab of Smartcursor settings, in the Tools menu.
  5. Not sure what you mean bcd. The export works, just the preview button in the dialog box is dead. Had my students try it in our mac lab and no go on any of the 14 imacs, so I am thinking this function is broke in VW2010 on the mac.
  6. When exporting an animation in 2010 the preview button does not work, either in Orbital Animation or Animation along Path. The export still works fine, but no preview. is it just me? David
  7. I noticed this in an intro to vectorworks class I teach. We just upgraded to 2010 in the lab and it happened across the board on all the systems. Constrain Collinear seems to be having problems on the mac platform. David MacOS10.6.2 VW10sp1 on board since minicad 6
  8. Of course you are all correct, Even if you sweep a symmetrical object on center you are wrapping it 180 degrees too many. (unless you limit the rotation to 180) I will quietly split my baluster profiles now that I get the reasoning Thanks David
  9. It happens on 2 different computers, mine and a student of mine, both mac, both with the educational version installed. I am in a quandary David Mac 2.33 Intel Core 2 Duo Os 10.5.6 VW 2009 SP2 build 99197
  10. In 2008 I could put a locus at the center point of a profile, like a baluster, and revolve the shape around its center. In 2009 I get an error "A sweep cannot be swept around a locus inside the bounds of the swept object" . Even if the locus in not inside the object but centered below you get this message. Now I know I can trim the profile on the center line and revolve it around its left edge, but this inability to revolve an object around its center does not make sense. Mac 2.33 Intel Core 2 Duo Os 10.5.6 VW 2009 SP2 build 99197
  11. It happens to me as well. Trim tool will not trim to an intersection, or to the wrong intersection. I have had instances where just changing the zoom factor would do the trick. Now I just draw a second line that shares the trim point and that usually works. In earlier versions the trim tool would cause frequent crashes. No sign of that in 20-08, but I still have a Pavlovian reflex to save every time before I use it.
  12. There is a choice in the preferences tab ( the little tool button next to the dimension mode choices on the top left tool bar) where you can select either chain dimensions or individual dimensions for the chain dimension tool.
  13. 10.4.10 I have repaired permissions within the last 2 weeks, nothing more than that I get the normal "application has quit unexpectedly, close, relaunch, report" window. There is no 1 action that I can make it crash on every time, but in 15 minutes of working with radial dimensions I had 5-6 crashes doing similar operations.
  14. I am on an intel mac running 10.4 and VW 2008 and I am noticing frequent crashes when resizing circular dimensions, particularly changing the dimension with the curser. Is this a known 2008 problem? or just the inclination of my particular machine?
  15. What is the best way to pull out a section of a joined series of wall segments? It is great that the adjoining walls stretch to accommodate a wall move, but sometimes I want to pull out a wall section and have the walls it is joined to stay put. Right now I drag a copy out and delete the original, but I feel there must be a more elegant solution.
