I figured out that pdf are now not printed but exported. Thats a big relief. I guess I have to hang in there, changing from pc to mac and changing from vw arch 11 to vw arch 2010 all at the same time is going to be painfull.

I have the Architectural series. I guess for me its that I have 5 project on the go a many more in maintenance. If I have to spend days on each project fixing window schedules and ids and changing wall styles.. well I can't. I was expecting an easier transition. The printing and window change getting represented on schedules needs to be addressed or else I can't produce drawings. I had 11.5 wired and productive. Why does every step forward seem like two back.

in 11.5 I just batch printed to a pdf printer (Adobe) now VW doesn't even give me an option to print to a pdf? I have adobe pro and vw 2010. I like to batch print right to a pdf file. I could do it with 11.5 and a very old adobe???? Sorry for all the posts but my $6000 investment in hardware and soft ware is now looking foolish. Does any body know if I can return 2010VW? The amount of time to bring my projects across from 11.5 will kill any time savings I will make over the coming year

My door sizes do not change on the schedule either. Looks like if I change the door size I need then to go into the tag data field and change the size and then go into the window data field and change the size.

The I-dropper tool no long works for changing wall attributes? That is a sad loss.

Ok I that worked. But then I wanted to change that wall style fill to a darker fill and every time I change the fill it take me back to un-styled. Say I have a wall style "interior". I've made all my walls and I don't like the fill. How can I change all the walls with out having to create a new style. I just tried for ten minutes and nothing.

It's labeled a custom stair.

Bringing my 11.5 file made my window id tags do strange things. 1. the hex border is gone. I have to go to each one and add a size. THe multi pick does not give me the option. 2. I change the actual window data number and it doesn't change the windows settings dialog box. Seems like there is now two places to fill out? 3. The most concerning thing is I changed the size of the window and it does not get reflected in the schedule even after updating. Is there something I don't know here? Am I not supposed to bring my existing projects from 11.5. I have 5 active project on the go here I can't redraw them and I can't run both 11.5 and 2010. Come on Vectorworks.... this transition should be seamless.

Does anybody have an idea why my wall fills in plan turned white(only some of them) when I converted from 11.5 to 2010? The class is a brown fill, the object attributes is brown but the object shows a white fill and I cant change it. Any ideas?

How do turn off the stair in 3d. In 11.5 it was easy. show in 3d view. john

I'm having issues changing the viewport line weights and colors. I made the change in the view port class dialog but only some of the objects changed. The class "none" in particular did not change. The reason I need to make this change is because VW did not make the section cleanly. The windows have different line weights. I just purchased VW2010 and I guess the big question to those of you that use it in the real world is: ?Is Vectorworks at a place where we can use live sections and elevations?? What I want is to use a live viewport elevation or section, rendered in hidden, add a few polygons for siding,roofing materials and some notes ?? done.

I just took the dive and updated and I'm finding I'm a little lost. I also switched to a Mac OS, I bought a mac book pro (I still have my 5 year old pc). Questions: 1. Can I use my 2010 arch Vw for Mac on my PC as well (copy on my mac book and copy on my pc)? How? Can I go back and forth? (I am still using 11.5 on my PC and scared to jump my real projects to the new VW/mac) 2. There seems to be no guide to work flow. I design very custom homes and cabins. My work flow was: Sketches - plan - model - cut 3d section - copy to lines -make 2d sections and elevations. What is the best work flow for me now? Any examples out there or does anybody have a good template for me? 3. How do you Esc on a mac. One of those crossover questions. Ie: your rendering and its taking too long... on a pc you pound the Esc key. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe it's the pasting end of things. 1. I highlight a cell 2. Press Ctrl and C at the same time.(does the cross curser change from black to white?) 3. Move the curser to a different cell 4. Press Ctrl P By the way I've been using computors all my life John

My doors and windows don't cut the round wall in plan and in 3d do not fit very well. Does anybody have any ideas? Version 11.5

I have the opportunity to work with another Architect that runs the Mac version of Vectorworks and I run the Windows Version of Vectorworks Architect 11.5. Do the files transfer back and forth? Is there any problems or issues?

Hi All, I'm doing a entry roof, a gable that has a side curved, steep at first then arching to 3:12 pitch. I can do the curve with nurbs then taper extrude the curve. But I want the roof to have a thickness. I can't seem to create a thickness but I've seen other do it. Can anybody Help!! John
