Right, makes sense, but I also had the situation, where I deleted a device and pulled something from the ressource manager, gave it the same name and tag and it snapped back to the original device. From what you where describing, this shouldn't happen, because the Device Name doesn't exist anymore right?
Hey, ok so far that makes sense. The thing is it also happens when that first one is deleted. Or do I have to clean it out in another way? Or is it maybe still in the System because there where circuits attatched before? Or does it have to do with a device beeing stored in the Ressource Manager with that Name and Tag?
I guess the overall question is: How do I replace an existing device with a different one which recieves the same Name and Tag
Hi,
I want to change some socket names and tags with the Search and Replace tool. To change it, I tick "Record Fields".
After I do, it always tells me "4 occurrences where found or changed"
So I see that 2 of those are Socket Name and Display Tag. What are the two missing occurrences?
Hey,
so by default, if a new Design Layer is added it will be visible in all wxisting Viewports. Can this "feature" be reversed? So if a new Design Layer is added, that it is not visible on any Viewport?
Thanks
Hi,
we have quite a large symbol library created for ourselves in my company. Now I would like to excport an excel sheet with all these symbols. Can I list them in a worksheet if they only live in the resource manager?
Regards
Hi, I have a followup question. Can I add a socket?
I tried to copy the skt_con_in symbol and renamed it to skt_con_test_in and changed the color. It didn't appear in the dropdown list of a socket. Does that work somehow?
Hi, so I understand that I can use the internal Database in the Device Builder to create preconfigured devices. If I want to edit that list I have to change the textfile ConnectCAD Devices DB.txt.
Now in my company we have a little bit of a standard for how we layout our sockets on the device. E.g. LAN Ports come first and the bottom row is always power. Some ports may be grouped together for better visibility.
Can I store this information in the database too or will it always spit out socket after socket as written in the database??
