  1. I have found that the plots dont always go through in the order you send them, especially if you are printing 10 or more sheets in one go. In this situation it becomes impossible to keep track of the prints. Its a nightmare if you want to try and do a few reprints. I tried out a demo of microspot x-rip yesterday and it halved the amount of time it for the print to start coming out of the printer and it displayed the job name in the print que. The plot was very badly pixelated and all the lines were very thick. Im sure this is just a setting I havent got right though... I would still like to know what Nemetschek have to say on it .
  2. Our HP Designjet 800 PS displays the user name of the person who sent the job rather than the actual file name. I have contacted HP on this and they have said that it is to do with the way Vectorworks creates the plot files. Is there some way to set up Vectorworks so that it will send the file name of the drawing as the job title? We are using Vectorworks 11.5 on G5 dual 1.8ghz machines running Mac OSX 10.3.9. Any help on this would be apreciated as when we have a lot of jobs going through the printer it is impossible to distinguish one job from another. thanks! 3. i'm not asking for it to be changed, i just want the option to set it up the way that works best for me. why do you people feel the need to defend the inadequacies in this program? i find the zooming in photoshop quite irritating btw...
  4. do you have a three button mouse? it only works on three button or wheel mice.... you use the middle button/wheel and control...
  5. thanks, but i'm using mac... @katie, i'm starting to warm to to space bar panning its certainly a vast imrovement over the last version i was using (8.5), thanks for the tip...
  6. i want it excatly as it is in autocad. i dont want the hassle of holding keys.... is it possible?
  7. is it possible to change the default option when asked ungroup objects witth record or class information? the default option is no but id like to be yes this would speed things up as you could just press enter and the command would go through.... thanks...
  8. i expected to be blown away because i moved from a g4 450 mhz with 384 ram to a new G5. i expected the screen to be responsive and significantly faster. i would say the performance increase is marginal. i think it has more to do with the vectorworks display engine than the hardware. it just cant seem to cope with large files.
  9. how can i setup vectorworks 11 on mac osx to emulate autocads zooming and panning method with the mouse wheel. i.e. zoom in and out with the wheel and pan by holding the wheel down and dragging. is there a way that the mouse wheel moving could trigger the interactive zoom mode rather than the zooming by increments. if there is no easy way to do this is there a script out there that could do it? could this type of functionality be scripted? 10. i am running vectorworks 11.0.1, mac osx 10.3.5, on a brand new G5 (dual 1.8ghz, 1.25gb ram) with nothing installed except for vectorworks and office. the redraw seems very slow and the interactive zoom doesnt work because its so slow to update the screen. i'm only working on 2d drawings, the biggest is 10mb most of the others are 2 or 3mb. im not running itunes or anything else while running vectorworks. is it something i'm doing wrong? i would have thought that a new G5 and the latest sofware would blow me away performance wise but the reality is somewhat disapointing and frustrating. is vectorworks simply not capable of handling large files?
