  1. I've found them! When I select top/plan view, I can see the railings I've created, however they are nowhere near the rest of my 3D model - why would this be?
  2. Thanks for your reply Pat. It is in class None which is visible.
  3. I have been trying to add a handrail to steps using the 3D line mode and after clicking between two points, nothing appears on the model, but looking at the Object Info palette, it looks like a new Railings/Fence object was created with corresponding heights. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
  4. Hi, Does anyone know why these black lines/boxes are appearing around my hardscape elements? I have deleted and redrawn but they still appear. I also copied a hardscape element from another file where this was not happening and the lines are not appearing around that particular element, just ones I have created in the file I'm now working on. This is only happening on the hardscape elements, not the other site modifiers. I have hidden the Site-DTM-Modifier class which has hidden the red site modifier lines but not these black lines. Any suggestions much appreciated! Thanks
  5. Thanks all for your insights and suggestions. I am still learning the ropes of 3D modelling in Vectorworks so, for me, all of these options are useful as it helps me understand the various workflows you can use to create any one thing. But, for this particular project, I only need an approximation of the railings. They form part of the architecture of a house but I am designing the garden, not the house, so they don't need to be exact. @Elite Exhibits thank you for the example - could you briefly outline the steps to create this?
  6. Thanks @bcd for responding - I'll try that too
  7. @Kevin K really kind, thank you so much!
  8. Why do my hardscape elements have black wireframe boxes around them and can I remove them or stop them from showing in the render? Thanks
  9. Thanks @Tom W. this may stretch my fairly limited VW expertise but it sounds like a great solution if I can work out the steps! I'll definitely give it a go. Thanks @Kevin K for the suggestion - I think there may be one on turbosquid I could use if the above doesn't work out @bcd thanks - if creating my own symbol using a casting as you suggest, do I draw all the other elements too to create one section of railing, ie. posts, top rail, bottom rail?
  10. Thanks Tom. Would either of these methods create transparency through the gaps of the railings in the way that the Railing/Fence tool does? I wondered if there are any libraries out there to download new symbols? I am not a Service Select member any more unfortunately - do more ornate symbols exist in the premium libraries?
  11. I am looking to create wrought iron railings on a balcony as per the attached. Is there somewhere to import ready-made symbols to create something similar? Thanks
  12. I am trying to offset a polyline by 300mm to make a curved wall shape in Vectorworks 2022 Landmark however it's not working. I am able to create an offset for a very subtle curve but when trying to offset a line which has more bend it does not work. I used to be able to create these kind of offsets in previous versions. I have tried simplifying the line by removing as many points as possible without losing the shape but it still does not work. Any ideas why this might be?
