    Hey guys,

Side Note: I just noticed that Vectorworks 2023 system requirements say 32GB is the minimum recommended ram? has this always been the case with previous versions?!

    Thanks,

    Craig

32 GB of RAM is the recommendation for High-end Profile drawing projects.  The "high-end" section of the System Requirements appears to have been moved to the top of the list.  If you scroll down further, you'll see the requirements for smaller projects.  Under the 2022 System Requirements, the, "Entry-level Profile" was listed first, at only 8GB of RAM.

  2. I've been communicating with another user who's been having the same issue with Vectorworks 2022.  They're using a Mac Studio with a single, Studio Display (Thunderbolt).  Received this follow up, just the other day, which sounds promising:

I am not completely ready to put this one to bed yet, but we have not had any recurrences since updating to MacOS 12.5.1. It used to happen a couple times a week, and now we are approaching a month without an incident.

no, just one 4k display (ASUS VP28U Display). a friend of mine just let me know that they had the same issue and since switching back to hdmi (instead of usb-c to display port) it seems to be working now. we switched away from hdmi because we had weird screen issues (flickering, color fringing) with it. possibly these issues have been resolved now. we will try working with hdmi again and see what happens...

Thanks and please keep us updated.  I've been testing on a Mac Studio with two displays 4K, one HDMI, the other usb-c and have yet to encounter the issue.  Though, I'm not able to spend every hour of my day on the computer either.  You're still running Ventura?  It's my understanding that macOS 12.5.1, has helped many users with graphical issues.

  4. Unfortunately, this is a current system limitation and the line thickness requires a range between 0.03 and 6.48mm.  I can definitely submit an enhancement request for future consideration.  Making changes in this area may have larger ramifications and not as simple as adjusting the values.  Careful considerations will have to be made.

Curious, for what type of lasers are you creating output?  The laser/software specifically requires .025mm line thickness?  What kind of file are you exporting?

No it is nog possible to log in in the upper-right corner. Its a dutch version 2.1 on a mac.

And the strange thing is it is not by every Mac user. So I think it must be something in the settings of the preferences.

Could it be resolved by delete net.netmetschek2022NL.plist?

I believe this may be fixed in a future update.  In the meantime, check the Computer's Regional settings.  You may encounter this issue if the regional settings are set to, English (World) and English (Europe).

Any idee how it comes that when you start up Vecotrworks 2022 you not able to login, so you can not use the VSS libraries. Is there a workflow to solve this?

Are you able to Sign-In, in the upper-right of Vectorworks, once the application has launched?  If no, what happens?  Is this 2022 SP2.1? Mac or Windows?

Some customers get the message not enough disk space on mac, but when you look at it there is plenty of it.
how can this be solved to instal 2022 on a mac?

    Pascal

Does the name of the hard drive, have a space in its name?  Try removing any spaces and see if that resolves the issue?

I have downloaded Vectorworks 2022, however, while I only just began using the program it kept shutting down midway through work.

I don't quite understand why this is happening since I have bought a new PC 2 weeks ago.

NAME OF PC: HP OMEN LAPTOP

    Device Name: LAPTOP-9EQ3UF07

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics  3.20 GHz

Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.3 GB usable)

Could someone please help me understand why this is happening?

All my updates are up to date as well.

    I would start here:

After installing vectorworks 2022 and Monterey 12.1 I notice that sometimes the menu bar is blocked, I can't open any menu anymore, which makes working with Vectorworks impossible. In 2021 this will not be a problem. is this a known bug? How to solve.

Some users are reporting Vectorworks' main menu stops responding, mostly seen on laptops.  Simply closing and reopening the lid, can temporarily correct the issue or going to your computer's System Preferences > Battery and turn off, "automatic graphics switching", then restart the computer.

  10. If you're having issues with the main Vectorworks menu not functioning, closing and reopening the laptop lid, can temporarily resolve the issue.   You can also try going to your computer's System Preferences > Battery and turn off, "automatic graphics switching", then restart the computer.  This is something we're continuing to investigate and test possible resolutions.

Ok,   so I'm used to Vectorworks crashing at this point,   but wow with SP2 it seems to be much worse,  It used to be force quit (or the application would just disappear) re-launch and get as much work done as you can before the next crash.  Now Vectorworks seems to be bringing my entire machine to its knees,    have to physically power off.   Completely unresponsive.     This only happens using Vectorworks.

    VW 2022 SP2 on Monterey 12.1 using 2 - 2K Thunderbolt Displays and 1 - 4k Vizio TV.

This happens during basic 3D modeling,   push-pull,   navigating,  and shaded view walkthroughs.

  12. We're hearing rumbles that the public release of Monterey macOS 12.1, may resolve the SaveAs and Export dialogs, failing to display issue in Vectorworks 2021/2022.  If you update to mac OS 12.1, please keep us updated.

Pulled from another article on the subject:

Adobe listed this same problem with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign: “Sometimes the Save, Save As, and Export dialogs may not appear when an external display (via a USB-C Thunderbolt cable) or an iPad (via Sidecar) is plugged in. To display the dialogs, temporarily unplug the external display or sidecar. "

    Hello Gunther,

on 2019-07-07 I did the VB-162563 "Zeno36_Videogame Mode on walkthrough tool don't works with 2 monitors" where I reported issues with the second monitor. The issue get the system uncontrollable, and the problem persist through years, moderate priority, unresolved, fix version "future".

Maybe is it connected to the same issue? Actually I have the same problem on my M1 but I did not reported it.

My English is bad now, 2 Yeats ago was a disaster, but I think you can understand the issue

No, I don't believe the two are related, even it multiple displays are being used.

    Yes,

    I am using two displays.

And by disconnecting one it suddenly works. (?!?)

    Thank you for the tip.

Will there be a service pack dealing with this issue?

    many thanks,

We have been unable to duplicate in-house, making this issue difficult to resolve at the moment.  We may contact you off the list for more information.
