  1. Hi, does anyone know a good place to find realistic people images? I'm rendering a gallery space and need to put in images of people looking at art works or walking around. Thanks, jean
  2. Ciao Lamberto, Thank you so much for the script (i've tried the first one)! It worked like wonder!!! It is incredibly simple and beautiful script. I would love to recommend to Nemetchek to contact you about adding this command to their vectorworks software if you don't mind. Thank you again for solving this headache problem of mine and for everyone for your suggestions. Best Regards, jean p.s. I have yet to try the second one and will let you know the result. 3. Hi Lamberto, Could you give me some more help on how to create the script file (Sorry I'm new at this and do not know the exact steps)? Do I go to Organize/Scripts/Create plug-in to create the script? I tried it this way but could not get it to show up in vectorscript palettes. Thanks, jean
  4. Wow, thanks for all the advise. I'm most interested in the new script and will give it a try (never done it before). I've tried the Propstuff's method and have the same problem. Might end up fudging the drawing and relying on the physical model for dimensions. Thanks. jean
  5. Hi, I'm wondering if I could get some advice with 3D Modeling. I am working on a pavillion tower that slants upward. It is wrapped in a rectangular piece of metal skin. I have problem getting the exact shape I want(the hard part is the keeping the skin rectangular). I've tried several ways such as tapper extrude but always end up with skin that looks trapazoidal. When I used the Extrude along Path command the Panel slants in only one direction instead of inward. could someone offer me some advise? (the shape is so easy to achieve in physical model as shown in the attached photo). Thanks, jean
  6. Hi, thanks for the advise. I tried the grid transparency shader with the dimple and it looks prettey good. A question for propstuff: for Image Transparency of the holes do I need to find an image of the perforated metal with white as the metal and holes in black and import the image? Do you know where I can find such image? Thanks. Jean
  7. Hi, Could someone give me some advise on what is the best way to simulate perforated metal? I need to get the effect of some reflectivity with some translucency. I tried Silver Mesh texture but I don't like the way it looks at all. Any better ways? Thanks
  8. again thank you all for your suggestions. I managed to make a passable drawing although I'm not too satisfied with the result. The whole process let me realized some of the limitation of computer modeling and in this case it is so much harder than building a physical model and very inacurate. Did Frank Gehry have similar problem with Catia workstation?!
  9. Thank you both so much for the advice. I will try the methods out and see how it goes. best regards, jean
  10. Hi, Ziska's curve looks great! But I couldn't quite get it when I tried out Kaare's method. I'm sorry I'm new at this. I got as far as extracting the two curves from a sweeped line but the curves looked like they are different length. Wouldn't they look trapazoidal when I loft it? Could you give me some more guidance? Thanks,

  12. thank you all for the great advise so far. I am still looking for the best way to represent the physical model shown here. The skin of the towers in the physical model are all made from the same size rectangular piece of paper wrapped around a slanted frame. I might have to draw a frame first and use the loft command to "connect the dots". Any suggestions.
  13. Could you teach me how to attach image with this forum? I would like to attach a photo of the physical model to show what I have in mind. Thanks.
  14. It looks like a cone. Imagine rolling an ice cream cone with a rectangular shaped waffle.
  15. Hi, I'm wondering if I could get some advice with 3D Modeling. I am working on a pavillion tower that slants upward toward center. It is wrapped in a rectangular piece of metal skin. I have problem getting the shape I want. I've tried using Tapper Extrude and Extrude along Path command but non seem to get the effect I wanted. I want to get the effect of a RECTANGULAR piece of metal skin (not trapazoidal) wrapped around a slopped tower frame. When I used the Tapper Extrude the skin is no longer rectangular. When I used the Extrude along Path command the Panel slants in only one direction instead of inward. Please could someone offer me some advise? Thanks, jean
