I'm attempting to print 5 sheets of a set using the publish command. I have the sheets selected and set up to print. No matter what I do, they print to my laser printer instead of my plotter. I have selected all the sheets and gone to the options button. I select my plotter and hit print. Nothing happens. I press publish, and all are printed on my laser printer. I have page set-up set to Arch D and plotter. If I print individual sheets, all is fine. What am I missing? VW 2014. MacBook Pro i7. HP 1050 CM Plotter.

After using the 'export to pdf' command for a very long time, I am suddenly experiencing some issues. If I export a drawing to pdf, some, but not all, of the text doesn't make it onto the pdf document. All text has the same attributes and are on the same layer. It seems that text blocks that were added early on in the drawings make it, and those added later don't. If I print to pdf, all is OK. This has happened to me on several drawings and has just started occurring. A drawing that might have worked successfully a week ago doesn't anymore. I've tried changing the font and reinstalling Acrobat Pro to no avail. I can't find any difference between the text blocks that export and those that don't. Any ideas?

What I actually did was to build a grid of 1" emissive RGB LEDs from the ESP library. We'll see what it looks like when I'm hooked up to the full ESP system on Saturday.

Thanks Kevin. I'm going to have to fake it a bit. I will not be feeding it imagery, just using the RGB LEDs as a more up to date stardrop.

On an upcoming tour, I'm using a Chameleon LED RGB backdrop. I plan on exporting my VW drawing to ESP and was wondering if anyone had a suggestion as to how to simulate this. I've thought about building a vertical grid of RGB sources but this wouldn't really be accurate. Thanks,

A client has given me some pdfs that need to be incorporated into drawings that must include his clients title block and then be exported to dwgs. I have built a 'details' grid and placed individual pdfs inside the boxes. I have given them no fill and no outline. They look great when exported to pdfs, but when the drawing is exported to dwg, the dwg includes outlines around each of these embedded pdfs. Am I missing something in the export process, or am I stuck with this? Thanks,

OK, it seems like that should work, but I'm really wondering how I could have deleted all the dash styles. And yes, I agree, there must be a simple, more elegant way to restore this.

I have somehow managed to delete all the dash styles from an existing drawing. If I relaunch VW all is OK, but as soon as I load this particular drawing, there are no dash styles available. So, I have found a solution to this problem, but don't really understand why the solution works. One of the layers present in my Sheet Layer viewport had some objects that were outside the actual print area. I narrowed the issue down to this layer. Once I cropped the viewport to the actual printing area, all is OK. Everything prints properly. Before I cropped this viewport, the sheet layer would not print at all, even as a 'print to pdf'. Exporting to pdf worked fine however. A bit mind boggling.

Very recently I have lost the ability to plot from a Sheet layer with one viewport. My plotter does it's thing, but outputs a blank sheet of paper. Same is true if I try to print to a laser printer. If I print from design layers, all is OK. This happens on multiple drawings, again only from sheet layers. I can't pinpoint exactly when this started happening, but it may have been around the same time I updated to OS 10.6.4. I've tried turning on and off Quartz imaging, etc. with no other results. Thanks Pat; No, they're not in a symbol folder and to confound me further, they show up in list view, but not thumbnail view. Is it something to do with how I built the symbol? They couldn't be simpler, a rectangle filled with color and a bit of text sitting on top. Scratching my head!

I've created several symbols by grouping objects and converting to symbol. They act as symbols on the drawing and show as symbols in the OIP, but do not show up in the resource palette. If I copy them and paste it into another drawing, they do show up there as as symbols in the resource palette. Workarounds are easy in this case, but it's driving me crazy trying to figure out why they will not show up. I've never had a problem like this before. Never mind, I found the 'highlight' box.

OK, so I realize that Spotlight will show a piece of truss in red if it does not fit into the 'connection interval' size. My usual fix for this is to change the 'connection interval'. You cannot, however, make the connection interval less than 2'10" (or can you?). My problem is that these trusses show up as red in all my renderings, even if I have a fill and a metallic texture assigned to the truss. it looks odd to have a red 1'x1'x1' corner block sitting in the corner of a truss structure. Well, still no go. As long as the layer containing the bitmapped image is visible, it will not export to pdf. I tried filling the image and it still would not export to pdf.

Taproot; Thanks. That's one thing I never thought of trying. I'll give it a go.

I have also run into some issues with exporting to pdf on a Mac running OSX 10.4.10 and VW 12.5.1. The problem only seems too occur when one of my layers contains an imported pdf or bitmap image. I go through the export to pdf dialogs including where to save the file and then nothing happens, nada. No file anywhere to be found. Sometimes I can print to pdf with the Macintosh print dialogue, but the result is either a pdf file that is at least as large as the VW file, or sometimes even a blank document. My no fun workaround is to redraw large portions of the imported pdf in its own layer and delete the imported pdf. Exporting to pdf is no problem then. More of a problem is created when the imported bitmap is a client's logo which is a bit more difficult to duplicate.

And I thought that I looked everywhere for a DPI setting. Thanks for both of the replies.

I've seen another post on this issue, but it didn't answer my question. I'm rendering a trade show booth and using imported jpegs of corporate logos as textures for booth walls and table surrounds so I can provide a variety of 3D views. When I render using final quality renderworks, the images render quite nicely, even zoomed in quite a bit. As soon as I save as a viewport, the quality of the image degrades terribly, looking very pixelated when I zoom in. This is true not only of the object with applied texture, but human figures and trussing as well. I've played quite a bit with various options and custom Renderworks settings, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Is there any way to ceate a custom color for the color fill palette? I found out how to do this when creating a texture, but not as a fill. I'm looking to create a color using CMYK. Actually Pantone would be great, but CMYK would be sufficient. Thanks, Bud Horowitz

I know that i've seen mention of this before, but can't seem to find it. How do I stop a projected gobo from showing light around its perimeter? VW 12, dual 800 G4 Quicksilver Mac. I've tried editing the texture, but don't seem to have any sucess. Thanks

Nope, doesn't do it. Rotate 3D only rotates on the Z axis with hybrid objects UNLESS you have the 'draw 3d only' checked in the oi pallette. Thanks
