  1. A bit of a strange one. In my view bar, I always like to keep layer scale as an visible option. But everytime that I quit vectorworks I lose that change. The same goes for the setting where, ESC ESC exits group. It seems to me these options are not stored in the workspace. So where are they stored? And how do I force them everytime. Not sure why but this is only a problem on my desktop, and not on my laptop. Running 2018 SP3

    Thanks

  2. Sorry for the wordy title, but thats the gist of my problem.

I have a workspace that got migrated across, so far no problem, but I was going into change some menus, and add new tools, and none of the changes would take. As in I would make the changes in the editor, commit, and when I was back in the workspace none of the changes were there, tried restarting etc etc. What was strange was I loaded the fundamentals workspace and made a change and it worked no problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  3. Hi,

I want to like the new key tool, but for the life of me I cannot get it to create two columns. So I always have to break it apart and then build my own.

I make the width very large and then try to make a column offset thats maybe 1/2 the size of the total width, but I cannot enter that, it always reverts to the full width...

Am I missing something very obvious here?

    Thanks

  4. Hey Everyone,

I'm sure that lots of people are finding the new snap to geometry function in VW useful. For me, I almost always want snapping and am finding it annoying to have to click it for every file. Is there a way to change the default?

    Thanks

  5. I feel like I have looked for something like this for awhile, I would assume it's being asked for over and over again, so apologies for bringing it up again.

Now we are on yearly upgrades for VW, and many of us on service select for the upgrade. Why is there no automated migration tool? Most softwares have a way of bringing over all the user settings etc from version to version. The main reason I take my time to upgrade is that I have to dedicate so much time to moving over resource favorites, workspaces, preferences, default tool settings, plugins etc. Not to mention the things that cannot come over like font mappings etc....

Is there a way to implement this? Surely other people want something like this too!

  6. I use the new text tracking feature a lot. It has saved my constant tapping on the spacebar, but why can't we apply the feature to a text style? It's rather annoying that every text block has to have the tracking applied to it... Wish that I could make it the default for everything. Or am I missing something?

  7. Yea I have thought of that. The problem is that makes faded regions, so you have a chunk at half and a chunk at quarter opacity. What I am looking for is a clean fade out.... seems easy in alot of programs but I cannot find almost anything that has transparency in it....

  8. Hey Everyone,

I am trying to make my hatch fade out as to indicate continuing forever and keeping the focus on my actual drawing, just like hand drafting, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I tried gradients but I cannot do one with a transparency, or hatch options or texture. Even importing a png with transparency.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
