  1. being new to VW and using objects as opposed to simply drawing lines, how are you guys typically representing walls? For instance a 2x4, is 3.5" and on an interior it may have 1/2" or 5/8" gwb. Do you show with gwb or just stud thickness?
  2. Old computer died, replaced with new IBM ThinkPad. Win XP pro, P-4 . Installed VW-Architect 11, all seemed to go well and it operates. However I am always promted to install quicktime 4.1 or later to get view certain items. Is quicktime on the install cd? Must I purchase it separately? Is is available for free?
  3. Is it possible to snap to objects that are not in current class? I imported a .dwg file, set a new class, tried to trace a portion of the imported drawing, but could not snap to endpoints. So I changed class, traced, then edited. Is there an easier way?
  4. If you were designing a bldg. with a crawlspace foundation instead of a slab on grade, what & where & how do you set up the footing and stemwall's z & delta z heights?
  5. Alt-L is to invoke the command, but that is only after selecting the multiple objects, then hold Alt as you click one of the objects to extend to the boundary. This is a great help to me. Thanks JHE, and Cairo.
  6. How do you veteren VW users place interior walls? After drawing exterior walls how do you start locating interiors? Do you just place a wall then move, resize etc. or is there a "tracking" command that lets you "walk" along another reference point? I've tried using the smart cursor guides and they seem to work for lines, but not walls. I've noticed another topic on offset walls, yes this would be better than duplicate, move. Next, how do you move several objects at same time? That is besides select-move, because I am just trying to reposition my model in the drawing and don't know the exact cartesian coordinates. Thanks for you help. Trying to convert from acad.
