  1. Worksheets seem to default to Geneva 10 no matter what your file default is set. I wish Worksheets would use the file default rather than it's own.
  2. Yeah I'd like to be able to select multiple objects within a wall too. Even better I'd like to be able to, say, select multiple windows on different floors (layers) and move them all equal distance along their respective walls. Would be very useful when working on multistory buildings.
  3. One would assume it was a trivial matter to include such a tool, which makes me wonder if there is some kind of business decision behind it (not that I can think of one though).
  4. Ah I see. I would classify this as a bug myself. If you have have a drawing which shows Wall Components, and then you open that file in a later version of VW and those Wall Components are turned off you have the potentially serious problem of people unintentially printing previously issued drawings that are incorrect. Putting the above issue aside though, I think the default should be Wall Components on. What do you think?
  5. There seems to be a bug somewhere in the workflow (or VW upgrade process) that turns off "show wall components." I still haven't had a chance to pinpoint when it is this happens.
  6. See third paragraph: http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/spotlight.html Support for this feature would be useful in the extreme. I'm hoping Apple will allow for 3rd party compatibility through a plugin or something. If so I hope NNA will be quicker off the mark to support such a feature than they have been with Mac OS X Spotlight search itself.
  7. Oh dear, I forgot to append =count It's Friday evening. Time to go for a beer.
  8. Hmm, I'm trying to add Layer now too: (((L='1st FLOOR') & ('Door Schedule'.'Type'='A'))) But this didn't work. Thanks for the colrow tip Petri.
  9. It was just the equals sign I had in the wrong position. Don't need the single quotes around Type and A. Ha, boy, sometimes I can make things difficult for myself! Thanks.
  10. I only synchronise the Templates folder and the Library folder. You should be able to sync the Workspaces and Plug-Ins folder too though. The only problem, I think, would be the notes database (which is in Plug-Ins>Common>Data>Notes), because this is the one thing that is probably conducive to being centralised (via an Alias/Shortcut) as it can then be updated and edited by everyone. Using ARD to sync it as above would mean that any edits done by other people to the database would be lost each time you propagated the master to their machines.
  11. Wow, can't believe some of you guys actually use VectorWorks via VNC over an internet connection. I use Apple Remote Desktop to do some system admin stuff but couldnt't imagine working on VectorWorks (and we have an office upstream connection of 832Kbps). In our office any remote work is done by downloading files from the office server and working on them locally, then reuploading them.
  12. Alistair, after much trial and tribulation trying to centralise resources on a server (which I found not to be a robust solution for many varied reasons) I settled on a system of using one machine as a master and propagating resources to all other machines from that master, using Apple Remote Desktop. I'm hoping that NNA will one day implement my wish to build a more robust and network friendly resource management system into VW: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=64697
  13. Oops my mistake, sorry I should actually know that. I got confused because I remember having a problem not being able to use superscript/subscript and thinking unicode wasn't properly implemented: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=65668#Post65668
  14. I have a small Worksheet which I want to show simply the number of types of each item: Record format = "Door Schedule" Field name = "Type" Types = A through to H So for one column I tried this, but it doesn't like it: What should I be doing to get the number of Type A?
  15. I'd like to be able to easily apply attributes to a Worksheet which alternate line by line (like OzCad's Worksheet on Drawing addon). i.e. for e.g. one line dark, one line light, etc. (fix text wrapping would be good to)
  16. No, I mean to say VectorWorks doesn't support Japanese characters. It's on the wishlist though: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=64138
  17. You've done it? Can you email me the file dunsterville?
  18. Great, someone else with the same problems as our office when joining walls: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=62283 The main problem is that you can't T-join components at the corner of L-joined walls. VectorWorks wants you to come along the wall over half the distance of the wall thickness being joined to before it will let you join the components. Some of your example junctions could probably be joined effectively (you have to get the sequence correct, and use the component join tool). The only workaround other wise it to trace over top with polygons. See also: http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=62310
  19. Unfortunately there's currently no Unicode support in VectorWorks.
  20. Don't know the number Robert (although I'd welcome being privy to such info). I sent an email to bugsubmit@nemetschek.net on 3 April, 2006 (5:01PM):
  21. When using the Wall Tool it would be useful if you could set the offset distance of the Custom Control Line Mode independently from whatever Wall Style you happen to have selected (and additionally to whatever offset is set in the wall style) . When drawing a floor plan sometimes you want to offset (by different distances) and sometimes you don't. It seems cumbersome to have to have a Wall Style for all of these eventualities.
  22. I submitted a bug for this a while back. Is it still there? http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=33940
  23. Think I'd prefer a merge. Or better yet, have the option of either or.
  24. This might already have been requested, but in case it hasn't, it would be great if symbols came in in their respective folders when creating a workgroup referecence, instead of coming in to the root level.
  25. The colour calibration features in this look great. Fair enough too. Why do so many architects insist on calling printers plotters (which were those things with actual pens weren't they?) Which ones are those? The imagePROGRAF?
