  1. It is major disadvantage for VW. It shame to tell other CAD user that our VW cannot do 2D view rotation( like UCS). G-Pang
  2. The most common cause of these Postscript errors is a small setting on your studio computer that is easy to fix. Here's how to do it: 1. Go to the Start menu, choose Settings, and choose Printers. Right-click on "Your Plotter" and choose Properties. 2. Click once on the Device Settings tab. 3.Scroll down until you see "Send Ctrl-D after each job". Change this setting to No. 4. Click OK. G-Pang
  3. Hold Option Key for Mac or Ctrl for PC. [ 07-27-2005, 09:17 PM: Message edited by: G-Pang ]
  4. Make sure there is an option / preferences setting to let user choose which way they prefered. Do not repeat the same problem as group default class does. - very hard to turn off specific class. Let us choose which way is suit us most. G-Pang
  5. HP 1055 is not a postscript plotter. IF they got HP 1055CM, it may work.
  6. I just forgot how to print pdf file with correct drawing scale. how to get off the margin to get correct scale? I had done it before but cannot recall how to do it. Anybody can refesh my memory? Getting older.... G-Pang
  7. Hugo, May be you won't believe me, but I can say we got nearly 200 Powermac G5s over here. We keep upgrading our system. Our philosophy is simple, TIME is more important than equipment cost ( in some cases ). We also known as a biggest apple customer in our country. * A tips for Apple buyer, If Apple do any offer, wait untill the offer is over and then quickly order for same model that they had offer. The price will be a lot cheaper than what they had offer. [ 05-27-2005, 10:28 PM: Message edited by: G-Pang ]
  8. Go for Power Mac. 2GB ram won't give you much advantage. You won't use it anyway. Imac frontside bus only 600mhz. it is slow. Powermac can reach up to 1.35 Ghz. We got 3 abandon 20" iMac with 2 GB ram here. No one to use it because it is too slow. it is not responsive as powermac. At the end give up to secretary to use it. If U want a responsive computer. simply looks for higher FSB. 1GB ram more than OK for VW. G-Pang
  9. Discover a lots of problem on 10.3.9 eg: workgroup safari mounting HD permissions Unstable for OS X Server Strongly NOT recommend to upgrade. Too many problem to list here. G-Pang
  10. 10.3.9 had some problems on safari. Not affecting VW so far.
  11. Have you try TCP/IP printing setup? If yes... What type of encoding that you are using? ACSII? Binary?? And check the plotter default queue? There are many ways to connect computer & plotter. Rendezvous is the easier but not the best. G-Pang
  12. Under Advanced Viewport Properties. I never success to change dashed line scale. Other feature like Line Weight, Arrowhead, Hatch line and Text Scale working fine. G-Pang
  13. How many Mac workstation do you have in the office?
  14. I never use PDF format for printing purpose since it cannot match on PS output, unless for Scale down purpose. There are several methods / and configuration to produce PDF format file. Just choose the method that can give a result that you looking for and also need to consider the drawing type. As my current job / building size about 400M long + 4 tower up to 55 storey high create some havoc on drawing production. The drawings scaled from 1:1000 to 1:1 . Just choose a correct choice for deference type of output. For my need ( as what I looking for )..PS PDF 300dpi cannot match OSX PDF at 600 dpi. Of course PS PDF at 600 dpi is better ( if we compare it with same dpi rate ). Look it the file / byte size. OSX pdf is 3 times lighter and PS PDF, forget about Acrobat PRo Distiller since not everyone have it. I get use e-mail my pdf up over 100 pages. Size is take the rule here. G-Pang
  15. Rotate drawing on Vectorbits.com do well on VW10 but NOT on VW11. G-Pang
  16. Just wondering..... OSX PDF just work perfect for me. Line, plyline, curve, circle, elipse, nurbs works perfect on my pdf output. G-Pang
  17. Jonathan was told me ..It is inside Set Print Are Dialog Box. G-Pang
  18. The Upgrade said.. Invisible Page Boundary Option Now you can choose whether to show or hide the page boundary in design layers. Hiding the page boundary simplifies VectorWorks' modeling environment and makes it easier for designers used to other modeling programs to make the switch to VectorWorks. How to do this????? G-Pang
  19. There is NO SPEED IMPROVEMENT. I can't notice any deference on it. A Good upgrade for SKETCH. G-Pang [ 03-02-2005, 03:04 AM: Message edited by: G-Pang ]
  20. 10 points for Mike. He is absolutely right. For VW beginner.. Just get the software foundamental correct first. Forget about Autocad method. U cannot use VW as an Autocad. It doesn't WORK!!!. It's totally deferrence software. G-Pang
  21. A little correction... It can handle multiple sheet at one time. It depend on your need when creating such files. Normally... Postscript files give a good result on printing compare to PDF files. If you need the files for viewing only. Better go for PDF. If you what it be printed on good quality.. simply go for postscript. PS files normally 20 times bigger than PDF. ( No images embeded in the file. )
