  1. So, I am so confused of how Vectorworks decide the column's length of general notes.

I just want it to be the same length at the first and the second columns at least same length ...

    why can't i ?

    I try to break it.

but the middle one is longer than the other...

    This is not uncommon.

    2 things to try.

    1.  Sometimes it shows the row height being too small when editing the worksheet, but when you close it, the instance of the worksheet in the drawing is correct.  That doesn't seem to be happening here.

    2.  When #1 fails, set your row height to some value.  Doesn't matter what.  Hit ok.  Edit the row height again, set it to Auto Fit Row Height.  That usually works.

@michaelk i am not sure if i was right following you #2 step.

    so, i record my screen.

I tried to set whatever height and change back to Auto Fit Row Height. But my text still missing.

I hope this is a quick fix!

Almost all the landscape areas I've created come in with 'greyed out' class attribution in the OIP and the class assigned to a class that has nothing to do with my planting workflow...

And if I create a LA in a new blank file, it creates these layers (in this example "L-SOLID-GC-Mulch") when they are non-existent.

    1122642501_Landscapeareaclassgreyedout.thumb.jpg.5254f0ad7182538f47ca070c9f72502d.jpg

    Why?

    What am I doing wrong?

If I use a style from the VW library (like 'purple purple perennial mix') I don't have a greyed out / preassigned class - but when I try and compare LA styles I can't find any settings that show class layer designation.

Okkie, I think I figure out how to fix this @@hollister design Studio

So, after having those Landscape Area Style created then we could find them in our Resource Manager,

we could right click on the Landscape Area Style and Choose "Plug-in Object Style Options"
then you just need to click on the Arrow sign to make Class adjustable.

    CLICK IT!

  4. Hello,
I am creating new landscaping area styles, but somehow the class OPT turning grey when I create it.... Can't change it's class.

however, If I imported Landscaping area styles from other drawing to my file and Edit in Resource Manager wouldn't appear this issue

can anyone tell me which step I went wrong, or where can I adjust this?

    I've recored video showing this.

The video showing following actions I made:

    1. I tried to create from un-styled Landscaping Area Tool.
when created a new plug-in  style, the class OPT turning GREY

    2. I tried to edit style from imported landscaping area style (which of class OPT won't turn grey), and the class OPT turning GREY after I edit it.

    3. I duplicate the imported Landscaping Area style in Resource Manager, and the class OPT still adjustable.

    Hello @Yonina,

Make sure you have your "Adjust flipped text" option in Document Settings checked. Viewports have this option too, which overrides the document option and I suppose that is why everything looks as expected on your Sheet Layer.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Best Regards,

    Nikolay Zhelyazkov

    Hello Nikolay,

I've checked on my Document Settings. It showed that the 'Adjust Flipped text' checked 🙂

do you have any other suggestion?

    thanks

    Regards,

I use a Workgroup Folder and Defaults to store title blocks.

Workgroup Folder:Libraries:Defaults:Sheet Border - Title Blocks

Put a VW file in that location that contains the title block, rest your Resources (Resource Manager, Gear Icon at top, Refresh Libraries) and you should be able to see your SB-TB in the list of selectable styles in the Sheet Border tool and in the OIP with a Sheet Border selected.

    Hello @Pat Stanford ,

Sorry, just found that I put at the wrong location. so, it appear now.

    Thanks 🙂

    -------

I am sharing the title block border style in Workgroup Folder. but when using title block border tool, it can't be found in when I tried to find anything in my Workgroup.
I checked on my Resource Manager, it's there. So I have to click on "Find in resource manager" at the window of title block window.

  8. Hello,
I just wondering if anyone had experience that having the tag upside down in the design layer, and showing okey in the sheet later?

A bit hard to read when I trying to work on my design layer....

In my design later, I have my text upside down...

And in my sheet layer, it looks okey.

  9. hello, i found that if i run the spelling check on my callout...

if it found the text in my callout note and when i said Change on the words... it won't change my text in my notes....

anyone know what is the best way to do the spelling check on user's notes library ?

    Even easier 🙂

Duplicate the worksheet in the Resource Manager.  Name them something meaningful.

In one of them delete rows from the bottom.  In the other delete rows from the top.  Insert both into the drawing.

will it make it hard to edit the contents in the worksheet?

let's say we split it to worksheet -1 and worksheet -2
but if i made some changes...

worksheet- 1 getting shorter and i have to copy and paste the text from worksheet -2 and delete things in worksheet - 2.... etc...
    😔

Right click on the row header for the database row.  It will be the row with the diamond to the left of the row number.  Choose Edit Criteria.

The next dialog box will show the list of criteria every object has to meet to be included in the database.  Click on More Choices.  Then set another criterion that will limit the number of items in the database.  Could be a layer or class or field value.

Then - in the resource manager - duplicate the worksheet.  In the duplicate worksheet change the new criterion to include the remainder of the original items and exclude the items included in the first database.

my work sheet is a spreadsheet.

dont have any data coming from the file.

    can it still works?

    thanks

    Not a good way. 🙂

I usually duplicate the worksheet and put a data range in the criteria of each (Field Value xxxx.xxxx is <= N for one and Field Value xxxx.xxxx is > N for the other) or split it up by floor or phase or some other useful criterion.

Hello, I am trying to split my spreadsheet into two table.

not too sure about how to apply the field value for the worksheet.

where can i find the place to set the data range?

    thanks

The ability to have any Class or Layer become 'non-plot' would be a welcome addition, instead of only having the one 'NonPlot' class.

I often put detailed information or notes inside Symbols or Layers, Reference Grids, etc. that I don't want to print, and when there's only one NonPlot class it gets a bit confusing. Adding to the confusion is the fact that the ‘NonPlot’ class does plot, despite its name.

This would be best achieved via a check box on the Classes and Layers tab on the Resource Browser.

[2018 Edit: The earliest post I found that requested this functionality dates back to 2009.]

Is this has been add in the latest version(2021)?
